So road races shorter than marathons allow records for point-to-point courses?

No - same rules for everything, .1% max drop and 50% point-to-point (40% for world records). Boston would be especially aided because the first 25k is mostly downhill.

Now I am even more convinced that SOMEONE will break the NR, but it might not be Tegenkamp.
Trafeh gets the AR!!! Officially 1:14:18, 3 seconds under Cabada's time. It was slightly tactical as they were 30 seconds off AR pace through 10 miles according to RunnerSpace. Mo Trafeh surged away from Tegenkamp in the last couple miles and probably had ~100m gap on him by the end.
No other times yet but top 3 were Trafeh, Josphat Boit, and then Teg.
Another guy won the overall:http://www.mlive.com/sports/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2013/05/julius_keter_is_2013_fifth_thi.html

I see, didn't realize they were doing a $5000 bonus for the American Record either. Mo Trafeh owes him one as he surely wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.
