For the meet director--why was the 10k road race cancelled at the last minute? And we were looking forward to watching Cam and Donn race. They're still listed on the site as Re:Run athletes but were not in attendance at the meet. Any details/follow-up?

to @@@ the goal when we originally started discussing the event was to host both 5k and 10k road races. During the 11 month process we fluxed from the City of SD not allowing us to have both, to finally convincing them to let us have both, then realizing unfortunately that we had extremely low numbers in the 10k race. No one was more upset than I about cancelling the 10k. The course was tough, hilly and scenic! But with any event, you come to a point where you realize the cost compared to the value, and you realize you have to make a tough decision. I had to pull the strings on cancelling the 10k a few weeks ago because it logistically didn't make sense to host it.
As far as the athletes are concerned we can't help against last minute scratches just like other meets can't. The athletes were not able to compete and we pulled them from our start lists. The athlete profiles take a good amount of time to set up. I like to keep them up there so viewers of the website have the opportunity to learn about any athlete they desire. With any first year 5k/track meet there will be things that will go wrong and we can approve upon. I hope to make Re:RUN San Diego a better event each and every year. Again I thank everyone for all their feedback. The most important thing is learning about what I did wrong and approving on it. Long live Re:RUN San Diego.

Who pays for Cain to go out to San Diego? I'm assuming it has to be her parents if she is trying to hold on to college eligibility "just in case".

...because it's perfectly reasonable to expect the Flotrack guys to get up, travel to the meet, set up a bunch of cameras and a webcast and do interviews and commentary for a couple of hours, just because they love you.
If you want the coverage for free, read the 100 word summary on LRC after they watch it on Flotrack and write an article.
Or for fifty cents a day, enjoy watching a high quality meet every couple of days.

Results , easy , get one person that their only job is collecting results and getting them out the door. Hope fully this person is a little track savvy as as result come come in they could do a quick search online to title release if applicable " world leading " fastest in US " etc... Good luck !

Any thoughts on the move by Cain just after 400m on the turn? Cut out into lane 2 in front of Sarah Brown. Looks like Brown checked her stride to keep from clipping Cain.
