The 38-year old divorced guy moves into an apartment because he's broke from paying child support and/or alimony. Now that he's not married anymore, the 23-year old office girls aren't interested anymore, especially because he's broke. He ends up chasing fatties at closing time.
The 38-year old divorced woman uses part of her divorce settlement to get a boob job/tummy tuck and parlays her newly improved looks into the a 2nd marriage with a doctor at the hospital or the lawyer at the firm.
As long as the woman is pretty, fit, educated she still has better opportunities to upgrade spouses than the husband. Now for the women who let themselves go and get divorced, they have no shot.

Another thought on this. None of these divorced women accept any of the blame on this. I've asked my wife why so many of her attractive, fit, educated friends are getting divorced and her response is always that the guys were a-holes. She won't acknowledge that a post-nuptial shutoff or slowdown is a valid reason for the guys to stray.

I've been a college professor for 10 years and I've never been tempted by any of the 18-20 year olds in my classes. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being surrounded by college-aged girls every day. To paraphrase Wooderson, "That's what I love about these (college) girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.", but I'd like to think that if I ever walked into my office and found a hot, 19-year old sprawled naked on my desk that I could turn it down.
I'll grant that maybe some of these guys were getting the post-nuptial shutoff, but all five? That seems doubtful, especially considering these women are all attractive and work out (most are runners).

This is a good point. I have found that the typical BS educated mom who works as a teacher or nurse usually is fairly intellectually shallow. Most of these types of women spend tons of time on Facebook or Pinterest dreaming up recipes and crafts. This fits the divorced five to a T.
Married too young.
Many people I know got married at 25-28 and got divorced a few years later due to cheating.

I agree, as this has been my experience as well. Once I hit my mid 20's, I was getting attention from early 20's chicks, as well as those in their 30's. The girls in their 30's were DTF at all times of the day, any day.

The woman's libido goes into the garbage, they gain weight, get depressed. Sex life dies.
Meanwhile, the husband is the still as horny as he was at age 15, and because the wife no longer wants to sleep with him, he goes out and tries to act like he's in college again.
I guess the biggest question I have is how these guys have the time to pull off an affair? Seriously, a wife, full-time job, kids...what time does he have to game chicks?

^ Well said. I think people cheat on purpose, in an almost self-destructive way, in an attempt to sabotage a relationship they're not getting emotional fulfillment from.
I see hot-ass chicks every day and want to bang them deep down in my DNA but I never will in a million years because I actually found a wife who is my true soul mate and with whom I am completely myself and emotionally fulfilled. There is nothing like it. She can read my thoughts and I hers. I would never trade this for anything.
I've been through it all - divorce, friends with benefits, girlfriends. Nothing beats being with your true partner. If you're lucky, you might stumble upon her/him someday. I know it's great until you get served with Divorce papers and lose everything you own and end up in a 600sf bachelor apt.

That's married too old, people used to get married to highschool sweet heart and it would last. Waiting even longer than 25-28 isn't going to improve anything except make for a marriage where is too old and tired with divorce, and put any children that are conceived at risk for birth defects.
I think its an easy decision for the ones that choose yes. Lets face it, there are a lot of woman who are or can be total b1tches at times, and others who talk way too freaking much.
I read in a book where men want to feel and be treated like warriors. An independent woman who is educated can make some guys feel like they aren't needed and don't have a reason to stay.
