Yifter...no contest.
People are having trouble with the concept of "last" 100m.
Makhloufi built a lead and then cruised his last 100.
Yifter also had a big lead going into that last 100 and cruised a bit. That backstretch was crazy, though.
Here is Jailan's race:

Farah didn't givve it up easily. Jeilan needed all he had.
Manzano's Silver run was a great last 100, too.

Webb's finishes vs Lagat are ridiculous. Hadn't seen those races before. Unreal.
Michael Stember lap 3 (or 2?) of the 1500 2000 Oly Trials. Only to fade.

LAST 100. LAST 100. LAST 100.Do you understand?! The last 100 is not in lap 2 or 3 of a 1500.

no
it's a 25.9/12.6
And here's a 24.8/12.0 in 81 World Cup 800
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edz3KXJhu3M
no that's 24.9
12.0 is nonsense
there is no 100m markings on the track
a little white post from which he goes 12.1 to finish
the previous lap shows a horizontal line in lane 3 which is behind white post - much more likely to represent 100m
the time from that to finish is more like 12.2
And a 24.7/11.9 in 81 Europa Cup 800
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCEYmHcs2so
nonsense
there is no shot of his whole body going thru at 700m & there is no sign of a 100m mark on the track
i very much doubt anyone took a ht of last 100 - there isn't even a track marking to go on
No, residual error of 0.2 in Zurich race. The clock moves on 0.2 at each of the official splits compared to where torso is.
His torso is above the 1300m line at 3:06.5 and the 1400 mark at 3:19.8. He crosses finish line at 3:32.2, before clock moves on 0.2 as it did at all points where splits were taken. The finish time comes up as 3:32.40, and is then later adjusted to 3:32.39. The last 100 is 12.5 at least, possibly 12.4.
The Rome World Cup splits were published at the time and can be found in AW, T&FN and the IAAF suplement that was published in 2 languages at the time and which I have a copy of. They were 24.8 and 12.0. Official. You are quibbling over 0.1! Really? The white post represents the 100m line, so clearly there is a 0.1 residual error. He covered the last 100 in 12.0 , just 0.1 faster than what the on screen clock showed.
Close scrutiny of the European Cup race using the 110 and 90m lines and the other athletes can ellicit a last 100 of sub 12.0.
I'll chose not to listen or take advice from someone who could not tell the difference between the 90m and 100 m marks on the track in Nice for Aouita, thank you. Aouita didn't run a last 100 of 11.7 in that race.
I'll take my own analysis thanks.
Arguing that a 24.8 is actually a 24.9 bahahahahaha you pathetic little man.
Steve Ovett - '77 Euro 1500
this is impressive
a solo 1'42.84 at few thousand feet of nairobi :
25.0 for last 200 & 13.0 for last 100
it's 25'30 in
Mathematics isn't my strongest subject, but its clear Coe is directly above the 200m line at 1:21.3 and there is a clear line and post at the 100m mark, which he is above in 1:34.1.
If his finish time is 1:46.16, then that makes 24.8 and 12.0.
the post line isn't necessarily the 100m line
you have to go to previous lap to see tranverse markings in lane 3 which represent more likely 100m & they project behind post
I don't know if the 800m counts as distance but if it does Wottle 72 is tough to top.

A lot of people have criticized Webb over his career for lack of speed. I have always maintained that was never, ever the problem. As seen in those two clips, the man had more than enough speed.
The last 800m of that 8km xc course was run in 1 second
We need somebody with a good calculator to work out what the last 100m in that was run in
that last 100 was run in:
1 - (2:00/8)*7 = -1:44
At the middle distances and what was at stake, I would vote for Spain's Fermin Cacho's Olympic Gold Medal finish in Barcelona.
