I'll try this one more time. I was asking about the training for Maggie Vessey, a 1:57.84 800m runner.
Her coach, Rose Monday, had designed a workout for HER (Maggie Vessey) of 1000m of alternating 200s within the 1000m of 44-34-44-34-44.
Her coach called this a Broken Tempo workout with the slower 200s at HER(Maggie Vessey) Threshold Pace and the quicker 200s at HER(Maggie Vessey)VO2 Max Pace.
The VO2 Max Pace seems way too quick for an 800m runner with a 1:57.84 PR.

Yes, a pace of 34 seconds per 200m is faster than VO2 max pace for a runner with Vessey's PRs. Even if you used Billat's 6 minute pace for VO2 max, that would be around 35.5 or 36 for Vessey. It may be that this is a good workout but that coach Monday is using very different definitions of terms like VO2 max, tempo, and aerobic threshold compared to other coaches.
