Went snowshoe running today. Soft snow, trails reasonably well tracked by others, sun out, no wind. Not fast, but more fun than any running I could imagine doing today.
Just finished 2+ hours doing a tour of the city.
NOT RECOMMENDED!
Luckily, I had Friday off so I got my two hour run in before the storm. Must have been difficult today.
Ran about 15 today on marathon course from Back Bay to Newton (Comm Ave to Beacon St to Comm Ave) and back. I spent a lot of time in the street on Beacon because sidewalks were badly shoveled and/or filled with people walking. Carriage road along Comm Ave in Newton was plowed and dry so about 6 miles (there and back) were good. Otherwise was about a minute off regular pace due to slipping, sliding, dodging pedestrians and cars. Yesterday ran back and forth in the street on Comm Ave in Back Bay to get 8 miles in, which was unpleasant. Will probably try the Charles bike path tomorrow, hoping it's been plowed by then.
Yep, did pretty much the same thing as Blaxton. I was muuuch slower than a minute per mile off pace. Definitely think that Beacon was a mess and Comm Ave was your best bet for avoiding injury today and for the next couple weeks.
I did a bit over an hour from Fenway to Jamaica Pond, then around the neighborhoods in JP. The sidewalks were hit-or-miss, but the streets were quiet enough to run in the middle of the road except for the main roads.
The Minuteman Bike Trail was flawless ... nailed a 10 miler on it this morning with zero issues
Is New Balance still paying to clear the riverway? haha

It wasn't plowed on the Somerville end when I ran up there. Got sick of dodging people scraping xc skis over the plowed roads and finished up on the treadmill at the gym.

Indoor tracks. Try Reggie Lewis although they may be closed on Sunday. For some smaller tracks try the local YMCAs. You may be able to get a day pass for around $10.

A ok, I started on the very opposite end in Bedford. Bedford and Lexington actually use ATVs with plows to clear the trail every time it snows.

Charles is overflowing onto the bike path. WOULDN'T reccomend to run on.

Have the other parts of the river path been cleared yet? Did 10 early this morning through Cambridge and Somerville and was in the road the entire time.
Depending if you have a car large movie theater parking lots are usually very well kept up. Although with this mess even the movie theater parking lot was barely acceptable today for a slow 2 miles. Lexington high school has an indoor track drop in for $5 each time at 7:15pm on Monday through Thursday nights although there is a science fair this week, and many other cancellations. There is a link on the greater Lowell road runner home page with the schedule and whenever school is closed, the track is also closed.
Head south. Roads are clear here in DC.
Roads also fine down here in Melbourne Beach Florida!! Sorry, that probably doesn't help....
Esplanade plowed and reasonably dry on Boston side from Science Museum to BU Bridge. Past the BU Bridge is not runnable (or at least as far as I could see - looks like it got plowed initially then plows throwing snow from Storrow Drive buried it again).
Cambridge side OK from Science Museum to about Longfellow Bridge (I turned around a little before Longfellow)
