Careful, buddy. Nowhere did I say True was going to win Heps. I only said he was a talent to watch in the future.
True is good enough to run 25 flat for 8k next year. That should put him at least near the top 10 in Heps. So, yes, he should have an impact.

Well I think most people are over looking (insert school name here) this coming fall, but they definately have the edge for several reasons. First of all we (I mean them) have (insert FL finalist/1:50 800m man bound to underachieve) coming in, and (top returning runner) will definately be right with the leaders, I mean he's strong as a bull and can kick with anyone (or insert some other tidbit about local 'god'). Plus we have (runners x y and z) who should definately run at least (some ideal-world improvement that disregards injury). Therefore I think (insert school name here) will either be first or second behind (any non-harvard school).

Everyone can say the same thing, but only one person will be right. The discussion is interesting; if you find it so tedious why not direct your attention to a different thread.
I think we've about hashed out the season outlook and unfortunatley everyone seems to classy to be talking a lot of trash. I think it would be interesting if people could speculate on wether teams would be stronger or weaker than they were last year (both at heps and in general) people ore going to be optimistic, but try to be honest.
Cornell- better only possible prediction unless Hyde flunks out again and people do miraculously worse.

All the runners from Brown are certainly not from No.Cal, just the ones that are freakishly tall and/or have pierced nipples. In fact, all the really good ones are from Maine....Yeah MAINE, some of us even have cut off tie dyes with Maine on them and orange trucker hats that we got from O'keefe's dad who uses it to hide his mullet.

update: Galebach's been found and returned to his cage. Since this time, he has reportedly been doing 36 hour sessions on his hamster wheel. Watch out when he tears up the hills at VCP, especially because he's going to be running in a giant plastic ball to prevent him from escaping again.
In related news, the rest of the Harvard team still thinks that heps is a "slow-race" where the winner is the last person to cross the finish line. Aside from Galebach they plan to uphold the honored crimson tradition of placing their top 6 runners in dead last. In a summer training session, a delighted Mclean-Foreman was quoted as saying "look at me, I'm going so slowly I'm going backwards."
McLean-Foreman disgraced the rest of the team last year with his second place finish, giving penn and cornell the oportunity to beat harvard out in sucking.
I will not confirm these rumors, but lets just say that if Jailhouse Jeffrey was behind bars he would find plenty of \'training partners\' and will be in excellent \'shape\' come HEPS time, besides with his european preperations this summer he is a sure bet for the Heps gold, thats unless Pat Tarpy has anything to say about it, I hear he benches 350. Another one to watch is Bruce Hyde, but he is way too focused on academics, he will likley be studying late into the night all fall trying to get to med school a year early and will simply be burnt out on the big day. Oh, by the way bruce, congrats on academic all-american!
One other contender I cannot forget to leave out ofcourse, is Michael Piche, I hear he has been doing killer workouts in practice, If he puts it together he will walk away from the field no sweat.
Whatever way it plays out, one thing is for sure. On that brisk November morning on the vast feilds of Van Cortland Park all the big names of the Ivy League will toe the line for one of the most amazing races of all-time. Their fates will be determined on the back hills of histories greatest XC course, their pride uplifted or strewn about like the bones on Cemetary hill.
It will truly be one for the ages.
