Don't get carried away. I'm not taking anything away from Rupp, but the Indoor American Record isn't up for taking by Rupp. The second fastest person over 1500m EVER...possesses that record. That's a little bit too much speed for Rupp to get too close to. Now, a 3:53-3:55 is a solid guess and a solid time for his ability level.

Agree. Only five men have broken 3:51 for the Mile indoors; so 3:50 or faster not likely nor easy.
How do you get tickets to this event?
I'm already looking forward to the NB Grand Prix, but the field for this race...well, I feel like I'd be an idiot not to make sure I saw this too.

Not totally disagreeing with you but rupp does a decent job of setting records. Former indor 5k record holder, current 2 mile record holder. Sure hes coming down and sure the mile is run way more often but rupp does have wheels. If thats a fast track and the pace is on......well dont count him out.

Of course with that said, Haile Gebrselassie ran a 3:31i 1500 (2nd all-time behind ElG) in 1998, smack-dab in the middle of two 10k golds.

the BU track is BLAZINGLY fast. Even doing easy strides on it you feel like you're flying. and the guys there know how to make sure a mile is not only paced to be fast, but paced well. Salazar also has his connections, especially since he used to live in the MA area so he'll get someone to make sure Rupp is on for a fast time.
That being said I say 3:52.x as the fastest. American record would be great but I dont see it happening.
