Unremarkable time here, but good enough to win on Kauai! I was thinking 'gobble gobble' across the finish line but contained myself.
hahaha i thought the same thing! 17min+ 5K is too slow to give 3+ excuses for why you ran slow. no none cares.
Can anyone here shed some light on that travesty of a race in Chicago. How far was it really and will they ever adjust results to reflect the actual order of finish?
18:26 for 2nd behind some 50 year old who ran in the 16's. Made my calf tear worse in the process.

10th Oa/1st age. Not bad on 10 miles per week. Certainly not the glory days.
18:20 for my first Trot! Semi-local 5K as a tempo for my first week back from a sickly Fall! Very pleased, and I will undoubtedly try to make this kind of thing traditional.
Jumped into a local 10k after no running in 5 months and had the flu the day before. Won in 34:00. Not what it used to be, but a beautiful day for running. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Actually, yes, it was measured somewhere between 3.15 and 3.2, which is standard for road 5ks (does anyone know why this is? I've heard pretty reasoning). I didn't mention this because it's standard for a road 5k to be slightly long. But seriously, come run at altitude.

26:26 8K good for 3rd place.
Ran 18:0x today and it was a terrific time for me.
That said, I always feel sheepish after seeing how many kids in XL tshirts and basketball shorts finish ahead of me. The group of kids that finished just ahead of me today were laughing and joking the whole way, some were even wearing costumes and stopped to pose for pictures. Me? I'm the guy slobbering spitting coughing stumbling to the finish and then feeling like I need a trip to the ER. I am in awe of that kind of ability. Never sacrifice the gift!
18:42 for 1st female, won a turkey :) but more importantly first time ever running under 19 and it felt great.
Last year same race ran 19:45 and it was my first time going sub-20
Should I try for sub 18 next year? :D
(Actually I'm setting the goal to run sub 18 in the spring. I've never put in a good base period before, going to up my mileage this winter. Right now I put more time into lifting than running.)

Everyone goes out really hard for the 1st minute as they're cranked up from the crowd and excitement.
The hill on the course is MUCH slower than I expected. My rough splits were 5:08/6:05/5:22/5:25/3:52. I expected to be about 11-11:05 going 5:15/5:45ish.
Perfect day for racing.
17:26 for 4th. Two of my kids I coach beat me by a couple seconds. I was happy!
