You really gotta admire the *shear grit of Shearer, the pluck, the audacity of continuing to enter races knowing full well his perpetual state of injury will prevent him from finishing and getting that 1:39 world record that has so often eluded him.
I believe that the world junior record for the indoor mile was set only 3 years ago. It was a solo effort.
