NCAA womens 1500/5k/10 predictions

"SIXTH YEAR" senior Tebo (Pixler) is getting a rude awakening on how it is to run Div 1 versus Div II. Spence will get spanked learning the same lesson trying to run professionally, even more of a challenge.

1500- I am praying for Hasay all the way...but if I had to put money on it, I'd guess Infeld FTW.

5k- Sheila Reid.

10k- No doubt about it, it will be the Tuliamuk show. Unless some rando like Bottorff has God on her side, Aliphine is taking it back to Wichita.

A rude awakening? You mean running the Olympic A standard (only college female distance runner to do so this year) and doubling back from the 1500 to solidly win PAC 12s over Kroeger (who some of you are favoring here?!

The D1 runners are in for a rude awakening when they get beaten by an former D2 runner.

Remember that at Heps she ran the final of the 800m one hour later (which she won). She won't be doing that at Nationals.

Also in the 1500 final, Abbey took the lead from the gun and had close to a 100m lead at one point in the race. Feldman made up a lot of ground in the last 250m of the race, but Abbey was just out too quick for Feldman to make up all of it.

I think if Feldman plays the semifinals right, she could be in good contention for the 1500m title in the final (or else, she could pull what Yale's Kate Grace did in the 800m last year at NCAAs: Grace had the fastest semifinal time but fell to 7th in the final in a time slower than her semi).

1500m finals is loaded. Every contender through to the finals. Van Dalen and Infeld looked very solid in heat 1 with Feldman 3rd. Piliusina, Flood and Hasay top 3 in heat 2. Hasay has her work cut out for her. She does not have the closing speed of the other 5. She needs to push it to win. If it's a tactical race, she won't win.

Reid will win the 5K...although her body isn't looking as hard lined as cross she still is an unbelievable confident racer. The way she carries herself in the race is unrelenting. She also coasted through at the region, should be ready for a quicker crack at it.

The 10K, im going out on a limb with the Kellner chick

The only thing i know is that Hasay and Friday will score alot of points in the 1,500 Kosinski and Woodard will score about 6 to 10 points in the 5 K and Woodard had the 2nd fastest 10 K qualifier but i'm thinking she will get about 4th in the 10 K so about 5 more points for Oregon. Oregon will win the womens championship easy this year

100 Garnder 10 points

400 Francis fastest qualifier but i'm thinking 6 to 8 points

800 Kesserling and Roesler about 15 points between them

1,500 Friday and Hasay 10-15 points

3 K Stepple Maddox and Thompson 5-6 points between them

5 K Kosinksi and WOodard 6 to 10 points

10 K Woodard 5 points

TJ Newson 4 points

Hept Theisen 10 points

4 by 1 5-8 points

4 by 4 6-10 points

so 72 at the least for the Oregon women and 91 at the most for the OREGON WOMEN GO DUCKS

van Dalen is my pick in the 1500. Knows how to get it done. No one has mentioned her in this thread (granted letsrun had her as 1st) .

Probably as she looked average at regionals but looked the class of the field here. I think it will come down to van Dalen, Hasay, Infeld and Flood with van Dalen winning it.

By the way, these were some fast heats in the 15. 4:13 missed out. You wouldn't have seen that 3 or 4 years ago.

Another point, these girls closed fast 63.xx Merber was 64.xx

I'm looking for Maier in the ten and not sure who will win, but think big kickers Feldman and Friday will be in the mix in a race won in over 4:10

Is that the same Rodgers that Kosinski destroyed in a 10 K earlier in the year?? i really wish Kosinski would have doubled in the 10 K like Woodward did for Oregon hell Gardner in the 200 would have been nice too or Theisen doing the H.J AS WELL AS THE HEPT. :(

Kosinski beat her in the 5K. Rogers had never run a 10K until the Big 12 conference meet.

Who is the freshman (Woodward) who finished fifth for Oregon. She came out of nowhere, so far as I know. I've never heard of her...is she a foreigner?

If you haven't heard of her, you haven't been paying attention. She won Footlocker Midwest and NXN Midwest last year..got like 6th at Footlocker finals. IN HER FIRST YEAR OF CROSS COUNTRY. Previously, she had played tennis. Ran around 10:12 for 3200 in track.

Definitely a gem and a future star in the 5k/10k ranks. Tough as nails. Nice race for her tonight.

She started running late in HS (soccer player) but she was a front runner at NXN and Foot Locker. I think she'll end up being the surprise star at Oregon.

Not that this is a bad interview or anything but she's clearly a bit surprised they're talking to her and keep asking her questions. Adorable.
