He does have a Twitter account (@chrissolinsky). He posted this evening that he did a double run today and few days ago he posted that he was running a hard 70 minutes. Pretty sure he's still giving this season a go. Even if he doesn't make the Oly Team, there is a lot of track season left to be run.
Your entire argument is based off of solinsky, all I said is that currently lomong is ahead of rupp. I think it's safe to assume that even though rupp ran 810 indoors he was out kicked by lomong at usas and lomong had a good indoor season. You haven't said anything for this year that indicates rupp is in shape and until then it can be safely assumed that lomong is ahead. I think rupp will be in much better shape when t counts though (Olympics and Europe. )

And you base that on what? Is this your professional medical diagnosis of where is injury is at? For better or worst Solinsky says he has been training, albeit lightly, since about January according to the flotrack interview from weeks back. I imagine he is putting in a good amount of miles now but probably not doing any speed work or high intensity training. I expect he will run in the trials the way Bekele ran in Daegu. Give it a try but know your body and not take risks. I don't consider that foregoing the season. But maybe it is to some of you.

I think you handled yourself much better than I would have when these morons took offense at your comment. I agree with your comment. Lomong would likely take down Rupp in a championship 5000m race. I think Rupp might possibly beat Lomong in a paced time trial, but Lomong may have a slight edge in a tactical race. If anybody has a problem with that viewpoint, then, well, good luck with your problem.

The confounding factor in looking at Rupp vs Lomong in the indoor 3000 is that Rupp was trying to beat Lagat by front running at a fast pace and blew up. Not sure that you can draw much of a conclusion about their respective kicks in a slow tactical race from that example.

well, i don't think this increases anyone's chances to make the team in the 5k or 10k, specially considering lomong's recent performance. i don't think anyone considered him a threat to make the team this year
