oh...sorry
i didnt realize Teg had had problems...(dont know y i didnt hear about it)
everyone else though, i dont care who they are, in the NCAA final, there should not be a 20 second gap between 2nd and 3rd when the winner in 13:49

Solinsky fainted Suzy Favor Hamilton style.
ah yes, the famous Texas Heat and Humidity. The great equalizer of training metholds, race strategies and guru predictions.
Texas and LSU have great facilities....in April.
I was behind Cragg in the stands.
It was more fun watching him salivate over this race thinking the race would have been his for the taking if he was in the race...
After Cheserate fell and caught the pack, Cragg jokingly said "what would happen if I start the race right now..."

So smart guy ... what would you suggest??? Have Ritz go to the front ... set a slow pace, watch him get outkicked ... oh wait, that's what happened today ... and at indoor nats.
yes. ritz certainly set himself up, though twice it looked as if cheseret might crack.
Cheseret still couldn't out run Cragg's shadow. God damn lame ass rules.
Teg needs a different program. He's getting hurt too much.
Yeeehaw...yeah we're here.
good results, ritz is in training
the best part about this race is that it is (likely) only the first in a trilogy. ritz and cheseret are both sophomores and thus we'll see this again next year outdoors. probably will see it in xc. and probably will see it indoors. these two are going to have quite the rivalry and it will only make both athletes better runners.
Ritz needs to take that sign off of his back that says "Out ...Kick Me"
the guy's a 10K runner, what do you expect will happen to him at 5K? he was in three close races this year. notice which distance he managed to outkick someone in.
I agree. Torres and Ritz should move up already.
Chuck, Chuck...Everyone knows that ultimately Ritz needs to be able to run a fast (very fast) 5k to compete in the 10k at the world level. The line has blurred btwn distance and speed. You cannot just be a 10k specialist and ignore the 5k. So, to say he is just a 10k runner is short sighted.

Neither of them. He got outkicked by Bob Kennedy at 10K, and Cragg and now Cheseret at 5K.
i was thinking collegiate year (i.e. xc nationals) but include that if you want. i put that down to not ever racing a 10K on the track before. plus, that wasn't really a "race" was it (in that place wasn't important)? more of a time trial. don't really need or want a kick in a time trial.

well, i think ritz is moving up to 10K for US trials. torres is taking it slow, i guess, but he is better suited for the long distances.

and everyone knows that to run a very fast 5K you have to be a very fast 3K runner. and everyone knows that to run a very fast 3K you have to be a very fast 1500 runner. and to run a very fast 1500, you have to be a very fast 800 runner. so ritz needs to work on dropping below 1:47 or he'll never make it as a marathoner.
when he becomes a fast 10K runner, he will be able to run a fast 5K. he is "just" a 10K runner. the 5K is too short for him. a 10K specialist will automatically be able to run a fast 5K if they're training properly. doesn't mean he will suddenly develop a kick.
I wasn't too disturbed by the outcome of this race until I heard that Cheseret FELL DOWN and lost 30M on the pack.
The guy deserves props. Everyone else?
