Yep. In his Flotrack interview he says he wants the pace hot, and in this field he will probably get it. He also has the balls to just go if it starts dragging (unlike Centro).
Levins will run the f#ck away from Centro. You heard it here.
I'd also put Kiplagat as the favorite after beating Lagat last week on a smaller track, being a 3:29 guy and having the XC background he has.
This will be strength training for Centro to see where he is right now.

It is amazing the hate a 22 year old american born world championship medalist gets because he went to Oregon and the love a 23 year old canadian whose biggest accomplishment is finishing 4th at NCAA XC gets because he goes to a crappy school and runs a lot of miles.

and I have no hate for Matt. in fact I think he is exceptional and wish him nothing but the best. Still I am cheering for Cam.
IF Levins beats Centro, this is just about the only time of year that he will be able to do it.

You would think that Centro at this distance as a rustbuster would not be sharp, whereas Levins is at his best right now. But do not let the pace dawdle, because Centro's a great kicker.
I think you underestimate Centro's 5000 potential. Dude ran 8:41 in the 2 mile in high school (high school only race), has a 7:50 indoor 3000m PR with minimal attempts, ran 13:49 in the 5000 3 years ago - also minimal attempts at the distance, and placed 10th in NCAA cross country as a 1500 runner. If he trained for the event, I am sure he'd be under 13:25 this year.

The answer is yes, last year at the New Balance games. 7:35 with one shoe for the entire 3000m, outkicking Farah.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I only meant that the guy who said Levins would beat Centro every single time they raced at 5000 was probably not looking at all the facts. Geb will of course stomp everyone. 7:35 over Farah with only one shoe??? Are you kidding me?? Levins will be at least 10 seconds back unless the field walks the first 2800. So will Centro.
Exactly, He ran 8:41 in high school and has shown very good overdistance ability without training for or even racing those distances. If he ran 8:41 when he was running ~4:03 for the mile, what will he run for 3000 when his top mile fitness is down around ~3:52 or, more than 10 seconds faster?
1)Centro is not in 3:52 shape right now. Or if he is that would be phenomenally dumb.
2) Geb(3?) is the favorite because his PR is so far ahead of the rest of the field. But Kiplagat could surpise us.
3) I would be pleased to see Centro or Cam within 7 seconds of the winning time.
