Who the heck is Brenda Martinez?! Looks like Anna's all talk, according to her interview on let's run..
Anna Willard Pierce has ALWAYS been all talk. First she was leaving the steeple because she never wanted to not be in the mix in a final again blah blah blah. NOW she actually stated that she is reconsidering steeple. The ONLY reason is because she knows she can't make the Olympics in 1500. Even her coach knows it. Anna has always been #1 with excuses. She needs to accept reality.

Best pro run of the day....second would be Farah's ho-hum 3:39 1500m.
Personally i was more excited about Jeff See' 3:56 win than Farah's 3:39. He sat his previous mile pr last year in 3:58.1 at the same meet in a losing effort, this is a good breakthrough for him. He's had minor improvement most of the past 6 years. Hope this is finally the year he busts it out.
US open at Madison Square Garden in New Yory City!
On her twitter(bmarttnb) she is thanking Coach Joe Vigil.
Thank you for your support.@scausatf @usatffoundation @newbalance and of course the Worlds Greatest Coach/advisor Joe Vigil!

Found this nice read on who is helping Brenda.
Women's Mile: Brenda Martinez Dominates
Brenda Martinez kicked in a 65-second last quarter-mile to claim a convincing win in the women's mile.
After Sara Vaughn led the small field through a 69-second opening quarter, Martinez moved to the front and slowly pulled away from the field. Unlike the men's race, there was very little changing of positions. 3:59 1500m runner Anna Pierce who struggled in 2011, was only third in her 2012 opener.
"I've never really focused on indoors, but I'm having a blast here now," Martinez, 24, said. "I'm just having fun. I'm just trying to run fearless now. I'm still learning. I have a lot to learn before the Olympic Trials."
Martinez, who lives in Big Bear, Calif., has been working this year with Dr. Joe Vigil (former coach of Deena Kastor), whom she credited Saturday with getting her strength up and preparing her for a shot at the World Indoor Championships, and later, the London Olympics.
Anna has hardly "ALWAYS been all talk." She's won NCAA and USA championships, she ranked #2 in the world in the 800, she's run sub-4:00 for 1500 meters.
I want some latina!
I remember she had a big breakthough in the 09 European season, but she's been kinda quiet since then. Anyone know why? Yeah very solid opener(?) though.
Hasn't Martinez run 2 flat for 800?
Please tell me why people are excited about a 4:34 mile.
She is coached by a young man named Carlos Handler, good friends with Cabada, and train in Big Bear. Went to UCR
4:34 isn't even fast! Hassay ran 4:36 after a DMR relay. Hassay books ticket to london.
Morgan,Jenny,Rowbury,Wurth-Thomas,Hassay,Hall,Infield,Moser.
All these women will spank Martinez.
4:34 for a women is like 4:15 for a man. What's the big deal?
Brenda and New Balance sucks.
Anna was using the race as a workout.
Let's all read Anna's article talking about running a record.
