This thread only works with assumptions.

When you see someone running with a fuel belt and it annoys you, I hope you are assuming they are out for an hour long 5 mile run. In that case, a fuel belt is unnecessary.

When you see a male running a 19-minute 5k in compression socks, you assume they think it makes them look good or professional rather than they might actually NEED them. In my experiences (recommending them, not wearing them, I am 98% injury free) they do work.

I think Ipod is the dumbest answer to this thread. That's like saying you don't think people should be allowed to run unless they do it for certain reasons...which I know plenty of us here would enforce, but I think is garbage. If someone wants to listen to music while working out, there is nothing annoying about that?

Arm warmers are mine. They honestly only annoy me because they are sooooo often worn when they aren't needed. And I know that everyone handles different temperatures differently, but when kids I watched grow up in my home town (where winter temps are always below freezing) wear the damn things when it is 55 degrees out, that's because they think it's cool. Hell, maybe it is, and I don't get riled about it and start threads on Letsrun, but it does make me roll my eyes.

I have to go with the fuel belts.

Also, I am pretty much done with running these days, but really hate the charity crap, and all of that. Ahh, thinking back to the days when beer companies were major sponsors, entry fees were $5 - $10, people raced to race, and not for some charity or run for xyz. I finished my running "career" doing trail races - no charity types there, mud and stream / river crossings in the winter keep the wusses away. After doing trail races for a few years, I did a local half marathon for training and to gauge my fitness. I was really turned off by the carnival atmosphere, fuel belts, head phones, Under Amour, fatties, cell phones, etc. If I do return to running it will be in difficult trail races and cross country races that keep the riff raff away.

I like to play pandora radio on my phone and put it in the pocket of my jacket.

Vibrams: I used to wear vibrams, but I am fast as shit sooo, when I see a fat calved stout jogger running at 12 minute per mile pace, it really annoys me, just giving a bad name to something I used.

Runner who got all the gear but are again running at like 12 minute per mile pace, but then again there are kenyans who run soooooo slow for easy days, but usually if they do not look like they are in shape they are probably just running.

And the waterbottles: do you really need a water bottle for the 20 minute run your going on at 10 minute/mile pace?

When these types of runner try to wave to you, when your going fast as shit past them.

Or when your running down a path, and one of these runners is on the same path going the same way, and you wait for them to move, when theyre running at 12 minute/mile pace, but then they dont move.

but I know I am fast as shit, have running swag style, and look good enough for people to know when I'm going 9 minutes/mile, they know im going easy

For some reason it bothers me to see people running together, both listening to music and not talking to each other. Come on!

I don't find anything wrong with the "hobby-jogger." They're nothing compared to any cyclist.

Trainers (as opposed to flats or spikes if on the track). Nothing says hobby jogger like running around with big, clunky running shoes on your feet.

Speaking of cyclists, I hate those old fat guys with the $3K Cervelo carbon fiber bikes, with the most expensive gear, and here I am with my aluminum sale bike wizzing past them, and then when I pass them they try to tag along, but then they die off a few minutes later

Garmins. So many people I know have barely started jogging, and bam - they fork over $300+ for a running watch. Then, of course, a few months later they've "gotten busy" and aren't running anymore.

Something in my frugal nature says spending $300 for a watch when you don't even put in 300 miles for the year is a waste of money. And that is annoying.
