OP, I am just impressed that you and your best friend came in 16:xx for a 5k race. Granted, maybe not fast for LetsRun standards, but for me I am very impressed indeed. Congrats to both of you. Almost brought tears to my eyes.

You didn't get 1st. The dog got 1st. Therefore you don't qualify for the $100.

The dog doesn't get the $100 because it's not a person and also it wasn't on a leash.

You don't get the $50 because you were interfering with the other runners, by running with a dog in the race, and by having your dog run around off the leash and out of control.

I'd say you normally have no case here, but the fact that you paid the dog's registration ought to entitle you to both registrations. I'm assuming there was no clause that stated that only a human could win prize money.

I'll bring my gator to Gasparilla and we'll see who the fastest is. My gator may not be as fast as your dog, but that's an OUT AND BACK course and I don't plan on feeding him for a few days. Based on your pace, we'll see you about the 6 mile mark. (gators have real short legs)

To everyone who thinks this is impossible, I've had a dog run over 100 miles a week in the summer with our cross country team by CHOICE, no leash, just came along. While this may be a troll, this is not impossible in my eyes, I've seen a dog keep up for 22 miles at 6:33 pace, I don't see why a dog couldn't run 16:15 for 5k.

I don't think anyone on this thread doesn't believe a doberman is capable of running a 16 min 5K. Obviously a running dog can do this easily. Most everyone just realizes the OP is trolling, for fun, and answering the question if the dog should get prize money.
