I know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not saying Wetmore won't recruit the best guys if he thinks he can make them into great collegiate runners. He would likely love a guy like Solinsky who ran 40mpw his first two HS years and slowly moved up to 70mpw his senior year. I am saying there are certain people--like York runners for instance--that Wetmore probably wouldn't pursue unless they came to him because he knows the type of mileage they run and knows that their ceiling might not be as high in college.
A good example of a high mileage guy who fell into his lap is Matt Tebo.
And I'm not sure any of you even live in Colorado. I was pretty dialed in to the Colorado HS cross country scene for a long time, including close relationships with most of the main, talented XC coaches in HS and had quite a few friends on the CU XC team. Especially when Jay was recruiting there, I know quite a bit about which guys they were pursuing.
