I take it you want to be eficient like him rather thanto look just like him.
One HUGE difference between runners who run athletically rather than just hard, is hip flexor strength and flexibility. One reason old people move (and run) so poorly, and for that matter, unaesthetically, is that they tend to have lost strenghth and flexibility in said hip flexors, which allow you to lead your stride with your knee, rather than by thrusting your lower leg forward. Leading with the knee facilitates opening the stide from the hips, and landing midfoot directly beneath center of gravity and immediately following through, taking advantage of the elastic recoil of the lower leg mucles.

How do you recommend to develop and maintain the hip flexor strength?

No, thats not a misconception, he has great speed and I hope you're kidding when you say Rupp would beat him in 200m. His PR for 100m is 11.00and 49.00 for 400m, not a chance for Rupp
No, you have it completely wrong. Bekele is nowhere near as fast as you think he is. This is the misconception I am trying to clear up.

I think if you want to get efficient form like K. Bekele the best thing to do is yo mimic him. Just watch a bunch of his races and try and pick out what he does.
I would think this is a pretty good solution. I remember running in college and visualizing myself running like Geb. I totally believed I had the form of Haile until I saw video of myself running (wasn't even close). But I still would mimic his form. Went from running 31:30s 10k to 29:15. A lot of running helped, but I also believe that visualizing myself running with the form of the greatest ever didn't hurt.

The truth is that your body will naturally find the form that is most efficient for you, given all of your own body's idiosyncrasies. There is at least a 10 times better chance that you will screw yourself up trying to adjust your form than there is that you will find that it helps.
Fat people tell themselves the same thing about being fat.

Will people please stop saying how much pure speed Rupp has. Rupp is NOT very fast. Have you ever seen him in a 800m race? He has no speed.
13.1 for 100m.
