Yong Sung Leal? Not great but pretty good (at least for a youngster).

Bill Rogers went to Wesleyan.

the story about the soccer player totally reminded me of a guy named jason mchenry my sophmore year that told the studs on our cross team that he could beat any of them at anytime after a heated confrontation in the cafeteria (our soccer team couldn't win for losing, but our cross team had won state the 2 previous years). he had some wheels- no doubt about that. they ran a 2 mile on our home track (super crappy loose dirt track that was supposed to be cinders, but they had washed away years before) the wednesday after state (our team had won again). he ends up running 8:58 in freaking soccer shoes! it would have been a school record by 13 seconds- not to mention the track it was on. of course, he kicked the crap out of our top 3 guys (one of them had an off day and even got lapped). we did everything we could to get him out for track, but he didn't want it to interfere with his soccer. good thing, he ended up signing a contract with the burn then an italian team. i don't know where he's at now. he used to tell us that during the summer he'd have his dad drop him 15 miles out of town and run back "to work on his wind". he also used to go out to the coast and camp out on the dunes and run up and down them (that was the rumor anyway)on weekends sometimes. he was a freak of nature.

Kim Mortensen ran (briefly) for UCLA, not Georgetown.
Mo Greene attended college, but did not compete for the school. The following is from a Sports Illustrated article...
A poor ACT score scared off most college football and track recruiters, which was fine with Greene. He had received a Project Choice scholarship that would pay for his schooling wherever he went, and he was not all that interested in collegiate competition anyway. Homesick at the mere thought of leaving the Kansas City area, he attended Park College in nearby Parkville, Mo., and KCKCC and continued to train with Hobson, which seemed an inspired decision when in 1995 Greene qualified for both the indoor and outdoor worlds
Mandeville High School in Louisiana had some state Champion girl that decided to hang it up her senior year and play just golf. I think her rich dad sent her to U of Texas to play golf. I'll see if I can find her name and times.
