Bowdoins course is now pancake flat. If the weather cooperates, regionals is going to be blazing fast. Tufts, Bates and Bowdoin all looked very good. Bowdoin is going to need to fiddle with the start though. There was a significant pileup as the pack entered the woods the first time.
Other results?
MIT looking strong at the similarly pancake flat Umass Dartmouth course:

And that's different than most cross country teams, how?
But at least Bowdoin's course runs a full 8k as opposed to the woefully short yet still listed as 5 miles Umass Dartmouth course.
I agree, the times from UMASS Dartmouth inflated MIT's lead in points for the weekly poll and hoisted Brandeis higher than I think they should be. If Conn had run it's top guys at that meet instead of the Iona MOC, I wonder how the team would have stacked up with MIT and Brandeis.
MOC results:

So is the guy from Conn that ran 27:20 at VCP the same guy that ran 14:20 in high school?
Sorry meant 27:12
Wow. Those times from VCP are pathetic! 26:30? I know all you babies think VCP is the toughest course in the world and all, but give me a break. Those times from a top team is pure ridiculousness.
By the way, UMD is a mid-west course. Got to love it. Stop hating. It is what most teams in the country get to run on, so stop bitching.
PLEASE: Let's stop this NESCAC circle jerk. It is an old routine. It is like arguing over who is the tallest midget. Let's instead talk individual contenders for the regional crown. . .
Any guess? Will Schmidt repeat?
Bowdoin is a "mid-west" course.
UMD is an embarrassingly short course.

Rand might give him a run for it
Who is Will Schmidt?
Rand is looking to be in great shape, could potentially beat Schmidt? Tully was also not to far behind, what's the deal with Noah Graboys???
Ok well basically the top teams in the Region now are
MIT
Middlebury
Tufts
Williams
Bates
Bowdoin
- mit, mid, tufts, and williams, all have a very tight 1-5 i think its a 35 sec spread which is going to mean for some great races at the end of the season if everyone is healthy. The Regional title is in the air and will be for the rest of the season in my eyes.
As for individuals
I think Schmidt is a definite favorite to repeat with the pack close behind being a group of 7: Koima, Rand, Dilts, Davies, Hannan, Horowitz, LeDuc and Canada if they actually race... some MIT guys, not sure who else there is. I would say Brown from Brandies but he has yet to do anything really in Cross.
Thoughts?

He seemed to be doing a workout of some kind. I dont believe he was going all out this past weekend.
I heard that the Bates runners only do cross-fit training during all 3 mesocycles of their gen. prep. phase.
Peaking. For. November.
Sept 19th Poll
MIT 87
Williams 79
Middlebury 76
Tufts 64
Bates 50
Brandeis 43
Bowdoin 42
Conn 18
Wesleyan 15
Amherst 13
What other schools will be at the Purple Valley Classic at Williams this weekend?
NESCAC school that will be there:
Amherst
Colby
Middlebury
Williams
This meet usually gets some pretty good competition and should shake some regional rankings up.
