First of all, brown shoes go much better with navy if you are out on the town. Black shoes with a navy suit is okay for the court room or a serious business meeting.
Match your socks to your pants, not your shoes. You showed your ignorance buy advising black socks with blue pants. Huge fashion wretch-up.
Button down collar is fine. In fact, it is preferred for a more conservative look. Either would work. Not sure why you mentioned that, please elaborate. Personal preference?
You are right about everything else. I will add that the pocket square should be a pressed Presidential fold.
