"Dude" yes the pace does matter. Every single runner with a hope at a WC medal in the event should be and is comfortable finishing that fast after jogging 23 laps. Their "SMOOTHNESS" is just as good if not better. Think of Farah, and every single Kenyan, Ethiopian or Eritrean that Rupp will be getting crushed by at WC. They'd look just as good.
