What is so wild and crazy about that statement that it warrants people attacking me left and right. He ran 27:10. That is 11 seconds off the record. He broke Bernard Lagat's indoor 5k record this winter. He finished just a few seconds off the 2010 NYC marathon champ in his debut half-marathon and ran 60:30. So please, point out the part where I am an idiot for my stating "Depending on what kind of shape he is in, he could get the record." That is a true statement. Fact. I am sorry if you don't get that.

Wrong. "Depending on what kind of shape" is relative to a persons natural talent. Pretty safe to say that Rosie does not have the same natural talent at the marathon as Radcliffe.

It is safe to say that Rupp has natural talent akin to Solinksy.

If Joe Blow is in 2:15 shape for a marathon he can run 2:15 whether he is Bill Rodgers or Terrance Mayhon, it does not matter. Words mean things, you can't just say them and try to change their meaning around, when you screw up.
