Honestly if you have this kind of concern about her marrying a guy you clearly have some feelings for her. I would approach on the big day because if she is going to be apprehensive its going to be at that moment and tell how you feel about the guy and how its a mistake. Then make up some more BS
I want her weekend to be miserable or at least compromised. I prob cant stop her from making a horrible mistake.

How am i going to find the location in Atlantic City????? I'm sure there quite a few wedding chapels that do quickie weddings. And the wedding could be saturday, sunday, or monday.
someone tell me about NJ marriage licenses? It says online that there is a 72 hour waiting period. And NJ does not have "drive thru" weddings like Vegas.

it is 100% about the kids. i've tried to reason with the mother that in a year when the oldest starts school the custody is going to shift to me b/c she has no desire to move back into the school district. I love my kids and want to see them everyday and be their father. I have offered to do whatever it takes and the mother just doesnt care. She has bounced around with several boyfriends in the past year, including a guy that dumped her on valentines day when she asked to move in with him. All I want is to put my family back together.

Thats not upstate. I live in Ithaca, NY which is more 'upstate' than Liberty and it's still nowhere near upstate. Think Massena or Plattsburg. THEY are upstate. I'm afraid we're not going to be able to help you, on the grounds of your flimsy grasp of geography. Sorry.

how can she get married if you two are only separated? Not divorced? Your story is full of holes.
In New York, If you arent part of the NY Metropolitan Area...you are upstate. It doesn't matter if something is further north than you in the state. Once you are outside the suburbs of the city, you are in upstate New York. It is kind of stupid, but thats how it is.

By "separated" do you mean legally separated? Were you ever married to this woman? If you are just separated and not divorced, then she can't marry of course. If you mean you were just living with her and had two kids with her then since that was a bad decision on her part, you shouldn't be too surprised by this further bad decision (not trying to be mean...just keeping it real brother).
Since these kids are yours, and I'm assuming you love them, you could do two things here to try to stop this wedding:
1) Just tell her that you "care" about her and that there are mountains of evidence that marrying someone you hardly know just doesn't work out.
2) To protect those children, assuming you're not a creep, YOU offer to marry her instead. Pitch the great family life angle, even mentioning how convenient it would all be...no more visitation, etc. Not really very romantic, but you're not dealing from a position in which you can be.
If she's just a total mess that you can't bring yourself to marry her (and maybe that's the case) then you will have to grin and bear it. If the only reason you're not marrying her is because you don't "love" her, then in order to protect your kids from the beatings this redneck step father would give them, marry her.
