Guinness is one of my favorites, but I've gotta tell ya, Shiner Bock tops my list, hard to find (see impossible) here in Hawaii.

Chicago Old Style
Olympia
Shaeffer
Tsing Dao (spelling?)
Dos Equis
Corona
Rolling Rock
HEY Chocolate you must be from the Northwest, how about Ranier? or Lucky Lager?
Ewww...that hurts. There's a reason the locals refer to Rainier Ale as "The Green Death".
The best thing about the Pacific Northwest - too many micros, too little time.
Guiness, Kokanee, Honey Brown, Rolling Rock, and of course make sure you pick up a dirty thirty of high life after nats
Now this is a thread i can get behind...
Estrella Galicia...from spain
Pacifico Claro...from mexico
Guiness...mmmm
Amstel Light
Michael o'shay's
And last but not least, the greatest party beer...BUSCH LIGHT!!!
Unless you're Canadian, you've yet to experience good beer. My list is stricly Canadian beer, cause frankly, American beer tastes like garbage.
1. MGD
2. Molson Canadian
3. Alexander Keith's
4. Standard
5. Labatt Blue
Don't bother spending a dime on anything else. It's just not worth it.
I hear ya!! Looking forward to my next visit to the Northwest!! My dad lives in Tacoma and I got a brother in the Navy (Whidbey Island)!! thinking sometime after the Holidays going for a visit!! Get out of the desert!!
I don't live in the Northwest, but I've been in every state in the US except Alaska and Hawaii. I love traveling around this great country of ours.
Actually though, I had tons of beer from around the country in college. We used to have an "Indiginous Beer" party after the winter break, and people would come and bring beer from their part of the country or world. Usually they brought bad beer because it was cheap and because that was kind of the thing - find the worst beer. We'd put the beer in a tub and fill it with ice water, and you stuck your hand in and drank whatever you pulled out.
I agree that Rainier sucks, and Lucky Lager is no good either. Neither is Lone Star.
Of the original ones I listed only one is from the northwest:
Chicago Old Style - Chicago
Olympia - Northwest
Shaeffer - Baltimore
Tsing Dao (spelling?) - Everywhere
Dos Equis - Everywhere
Corona - Everywhere
Rolling Rock - Pennsylvania
Oh Yeah, Gennessee sucks too.
Yep good old Olympia(ITS THE WATER, WHATEVER??!!) Speaking of Olympia Beer, one time my Uncle was drinking in a predominantly inhabited or frequented Indian(Native American) Bar, anyhoo he was bellied up to the bar and this white fella comes into the bar, looks around after entering the bar, but proceeds to the bar and yells to the bartender "hey barkeep how about a beer??!!??" the bartender asks the fella to name his poison, and the fella shouts out "Hell Give me an OLY, shit 10,000 Indians can't be wrong!!" My uncle being a fairly Notorious barfighter ie "Badass" said he didn't know whether to laugh or beat the hell out of the guy!! He decided to laugh and proceeded to buy the guy drinks the rest of the night, and everyone had a good time!!
the best:
pilsner urquell
budvar sold as czechvar in usa
rebel
paulaner
hacker-pschor
hb
warsteiner
the worst:
any and all american brews
Sorry about that http thing at the bottom, don't know where that came from!!???!!
Since you're sharing an Uncle story, I'll give you mine.
My Uncle Bill chased a squirrel around a tree and grabbed it. Squirrel bit him and he had to go get stitches. On the way out of the woods to the hospital, he stopped to take a leak and pissed on an electric fence that sent him sprawling to the ground. He said it was "rather shocking." Nice going Unc!
Got to go with the British Isles for the best brews.
1. Bass
2. Guinness
3. Belhaven Scottish Ale
To get your cheap drink on in Boston, where beers are usually about $4, got to go with Brubaker -- just stay with it and it gets better.
What I tried to say earlier, but was apparently too incompetent to do so, was that Pyramid Apricot Ale, is really good, and that Thunder Canyon here in Tucson makes and even better apricot ale.
Actually got a case of Apricot today. I'm all about Killians and Abita (Fall Fest, Purple Haze, Turbo Dog, Amber, Wheat). Lawsons Creek Vanilla Cream Stout is solid too. Yeungling is ok. Not great, not bad. Now for the worst: Meister Brau, Natural Ice, Natural Lite, Beast Ice, Beast Lite, Corona Lite, any Dixie beer.
1) Any beer I win in a bet
2) Guinness
3) Anchor Steam
4) Sierra Nevada
