That said, I don't mind it. His religion has become so ingrained into his personality that he describes himself through his beliefs. To me Hall just seems like a guy talking about himself and his relationship with the world through his God.
That's all fine. I guess my point is that people seem to be afraid of it. It's kindo of like gay bashing. Saying he's boring is fine, but there are people who bash him over it. My question to them is what are you afraid of?
If Ritz said football inspired him to run fast, etc fine. We all need our motivation, that's his. Should Hall lie? He's speaking from his heart. It's what he believes. Boring? maybe, yes to me, yes to you. Is he hurting anyone? No. Should people bash him for it? No.

Just to throwing it out there, but this is the same Mo Trafeh who set the (then) course record at Mt. SAC while fasting for Ramadan. Hall's not the only one that lets God/Allah interfere with his training.

This is an excellent point. If you take all of Ryan's statements about God, and replace them with "me/myself" (which is really not a stretch, considering that we were supposedly made in God's image), Ryan would seem like one of the biggest narcissists ever to walk the earth.
I think that his statements already make him seem like the biggest narcissist in running. Anyone who thinks that an omnipotent being spends as much time shaping the life of one particular organism, as Hall seems to think Yahweh does with him, has some serious issues with causality, theology, and reading comprehension. His grasp of free will vs determinism is shocking for an educated adult.
As many have said before, basically everything that comes out of Halls mouth is verbal masturbation and displacement of responsibility. And I personally find that incredibly annoying.
