Yes, Oregon and Nike have something no other program in the country have. Both would be hit for violations if NCAA went through their programs heavily.
With that being said, Auburn made the most mistakes by far.
#1 First possesion, receiver drops pass that was easily catchable, deep down field. Only put one hand out to attempt and catch it - didn't even fully extend and still it hit his hand. Lots of drops like that all year for Auburn.
#2 Terrible pass that was intercepted by Newton, nobody was close to it and it wasn't tipped.
#3 Terrible fumble by Newton at a criticle time of game, but Casey Matthews did sneak up and make a great play.
#4 Newton missed 2 easy passes, one for a short easy touchdown with no defender near and the other would have been a touchdown as his receiver had beaten the coverage deep. Both were easy passes. Big game nerves?
#5 Auburns coaching staff reverting to only trying to kill clock near the end of the 3rd and most of the 4th, instead of making legitiment attempts at scoring - until the last drive of course. Their short passing game/running game at the end of the first half was crushing Oregon. In the 4th quarter, they went mostly run.
Oregons big mistakes:
2 interceptions but the first was a decent pass that the reciever blew and AUburn made a great play. The 2nd was a strong blitz that hurried Oregons qb and he made a bad pass which it took a strong effort to pick.
Sloppy game for Auburn. Oregon looked good in stretches. They couldn't move the ball well at all against Auburns D, except for a few broken plays that netted them big passing yards.
Close game but sloppy.
Fairley is going to get his butt kicked in the NFl if he pulls that shit. Doesn't he know there are cameras that will catch everything?
