Oh how trends change. It was less than ten years ago that everyone was talking about Michigan being the hotbed for middle distance running, with Webb (and Brannen) joining Kevin Sullivan, Paul McMullen, and Tim Broe to train under Warhurst.
Lanana moves from Stanford to Oregon, starts the OTC (same as the farm team in Palo Alto), and now Oregon is the hotbed for running in the U.S. Not long ago, people would have laughed at the idea of training in Oregon.
Warhurst is the last American coach to coach an American born Male to an Olympic medal in the distances (Brian Diemer in the '84 Steeple).
Now that he has moved on from college coaching, we'll see how he does putting his focus on his post-collegiate group.
Cook, and Gags have had far more championship success than Jerry
