He said he does not have the talent that Matt and Evan have. You must really be stupid if you don't understand that this statement is meant to convey the idea that he (Solinsky) is not as talented as Tegenkamp and Jager.
You're just stupid. I mean, you might be more durable than Tegenkamp and Jager. So what? This does not mean you're as talented as they are...
I'm not stupid. I'm saying there is ambiguity in the quote, and that your subject is false. You're stupid.
NO, you are a moron. You might never get injured and be able to run 130 mile weeks. YOU are not as talented as Jager and Tegenkamp. Stupidity is pervasive, so at least you have many brethren to share in your traits.
Ha ha ha. Chet, you never disappoint.
GOTCHA!
(Who's stupid now?)
So if you are able to run 130 mile weeks at 6 minute pace and not get hurt for say 7 years you will become a 12:55 guy regardless of whether you have talent, having talent means you will run even faster.

Yes, of course, the more talent you have, the faster you'll be able to run, all things being equal...
I agree with the previous posters saying this is a backhanded way of complimenting yourself
Some of you are "thinking" way too much. These guys train together almost every day - Teg and Jaeger have tons of talent; they both are hurt alot. When healthy for even short stretches of time, they can run with or ahead of Solinsky in many workouts (and some races). If they could stay healthy, they may be better than Solinsky!!! Sometimes that is a big if. Chris does not need to make himself look better or tougher; they all know who is tougher (and at this time, he is also better!!!!)

Toughness likely has nothing to do with it. Do you really think Jaeger and Teg are just wimps? My guess is that physical health has everything to do with it.

I've never understood some of the comments made by the OTC. Matt Tegenkamp also said that Jager has the most speed out of the trio of him, Jager, and Solinsky but Tegenkamp has the faster 1500m PB by 4 seconds, so what does he mean? Jager also doesn't beat them in workouts because Jager admits he is always in the back at workouts. So what did Matt mean by that comment, and what did Solinsky mean by this one?
Im pretty sure youre not at the interval sessions they do together.
He probably means in short all out interval sessions, more sprint speed
7:36 had nothing to do with his max potential. It's just a time he ran......that year
None of you seem to get this. I get it, not because I am an insider, just because I am old and I have been following these three since they were in high school. If you know much about the development of the THREE of them it is clear what he meant. Those two ARE more talented than Chris. If you disregard Chris's 26:59 and three sub-13:00s THIS YEAR, I think you would find that Matt has accomplished close to what Chris has, but on MUCH less work.
Chris has been approaching being the best at every level systematically. He was training HARD and seriously under Behnke since he got to HS. I think he was 3rd at FL as a Junior, and he ran 8:50 and 4:06 as a junior. Most of us know what he ran as a senior. He was able to do this because he ran 70-100 a week consistently prepping for his junior and senior yrs.
Check into Matt's development. He will say that he ran consistently under 60 miles per week in HS, and he was not killing it year-round. They didn't start running twice a day under Schumacher until about Teg's senior year. In other words, he never worked as hard as the AR holder types of the past until the last few years. He is three years OLDER than Chris so Chris got nearly all of his career under the more strenuous program after Jerry got the bright idea to run doubles. This is not my opinion or something I made up, check into it, it is real. Also, look at Matt's PRs ...
1500 : 3:34.25
3000 : 7:34.98
2 mile: 8:07.07
5000 m: 12:58.56
1500, much faster than Chris. 3k (2006), same level but it took until this year. 2mile, faster. Right I know it is a 2mile and rarely run, but he is the AR holder no? and this was done in 2007.
5000 is slower but he ran it in 2009 and he ran 13:07 and 13:04 long before Chris. And even though Chris has three straight indoor NCAA wins (3k, 3k, 5k), and two straight outdoor 5ks, Matt has the School record (13:30).
The point is that these times came earlier and easier to Matt, despite being injured more than Chris.
And Jager? Just look at his PRs, they are all close to what Chris ran before 2010. The difference is that he ran ALL OF THEM in 2009 when he was only 20.
It may look like on paper that he was congratulating himself, but if you knew the three of them, you would realize it would be retarded to try to compliment yourself that way.
