go with an all wood takamine....they are a good bang for your buck and her next guitar could be a $1500 taylor..and get some really good strings, they will help the sound of the guitar immensely.
I agree. I have a $500 takamine acoustic/electric that sounds great. The action is really good and it has a built in tuner.
Also, I agree with getting good strings. They make a big difference. I really like Elixir strings. A little pricey but they last forever.
