first thing first is that 85 miles with a pr of 1612 means you have no speed or not so much talent..i wonder what kind of workouts you do..or if youre a guy who pounds out the easy days

i have not much speed alittle talent
i have to pound out the easy days no doubt about that. Im pretty desperate just to break that record. thats all. but i need the mileage
you have to put a little more info up on how to help
400pr 800pr 1600pr.. when like last year or is it from freshman year..
then what kind of workouts did you coach have you do during cross country for you 1612..like the bread and butter workouts..
then for track when you got the 1012.. what kind of workouts did you do..im sure at some point youve done 400 repeats..how fast..how much rest.. etc..
you have the base..you just need to develop some speed..if youve been doing the same stuff for the last 4 years without tapping into speed no wonder youre still slow with no speed.. how was your 5k progession from freshman to senior...
but first make sure you get squared away with your coach because you come to practice running different workouts behind his back..then you might not even be running to break that record
It's all about working hard and the long tempos.
You need to concentrate on getting fit again 1st
