The point is that parent, aunt, & uncle participation should NOT be a factor.

Why are people breaking trythisone's balls about the varsity letter point system. I'm not trying to speak for trythisone and his varsity letter point system, but isn't it pretty obvious why he has it set up as he does?? It gives the kid that shows up everyday but isn't a top-tier, fast runner a chance to feel good about them self. Its f***ing high school so who cares if he gives varsity letters out to kids who don't really deserve* them (the word deserve* may be defined in different ways to different people). At the very least it will teach the kid that they can still earn something if they work towards it.

It's about getting others involved, which is not only good for kid but for the team. He is not demanding that kid brings them just giving credit for ones that do. I'm suprised how many kids don't let parents know when or where meets are.

i once had a parent scold me for eating a banana. this was at the height of the atkins diet. i was a skinny high school runner.

Soooo many people can’t tell the difference between cross country and track. I swear
