You sound like a shill for POSE and Chi. The backlash against those is that they promised something for nothing based on spurious physics.
I doubt the letsrun crowd is against the idea that excessive heel striking, or incredibly weak hip flexors will slow you down.
We just aren't taken by snake oil.
Please re-visit some previous letsrun threads where you will find:
People claiming heel striking is how the body evolved to run
People claiming that however someone runs currently must by default be their most efficient way to run
People claiming form does not matter
People claiming elite athletes do not work on their form
People claiming it is not possible to change running mechanics
As I mentioned before, it is one thing to discuss the pros and cons of various techniques. It is just shocking to me that there are still people who believe "form does not matter"
My point about Pose and Chi is that they brought the importance of form to the masses, which is something runner's world failed to do. In many issues they stated many of the same claims from above.
There are countless letsrun threads that go something like this:
OP: I've been having (an issue) and want to work on my form, how should I go about this?
Typical LetsRun reply: Dude, form doesn't matter. Your body will figure it out if you run enough miles. Do you really think Geb thinks about form, NO he just runs.
Typical follow up reply: Case and point: Emil Zatopek...dudes form was terrible and he's like the best runner ever!
