My argument didn't say a thing about computers.
It's not even a debateable topic. We know more about the current events in other countries moreso than any other generation.

I wasn't refuting that. You inferred that because we never used to know about the magnitude of the suffering, now we should still ignore it even though we have the capability not to.
I was making a comparison between technology and knowledge by saying that just because we never knew about the suffering before, and just because we know about it now, that does not mean that we shouldn't or won't use that knowledge to either do something about the suffering or at least to worry.
