My dad is 5'8", mom is 5'4", both sisters are 5'4"ish, twin brother is 5'9"... and I'm 6'2". Use this as an opportunity to teach him good healthy eating habits or something.

But my Dr. is a woman!
Not too many walking around that are 6-2 and over and 65 years or more .
My dad's 5'10", my mom's 5'1", and I'm 5'11.5".
Just tell your son to play a lot...with black kids. Seriously, if you aren't in a city that has a lot of black kids, move or drive him to pickup games. The good kids around here are always playing pickup at rec centers. He can be like Nate Robinson if he turns out short. Or switch to soccer.
Haven't you ever seen those growth charts where you plot your heights at various ages and get a range of how tall most people with your growth pattern will be? There's a widening range of possible heights as time passes since the last measurement, of course, but it's possible to say that if you were 3'5 at age 6, 4'7 at age 7.5, and 5'2 at age 10 (for example), you'll probably be between X and Y because 90% of people with those stats grow like that.
sometimes it goes the other way. my dad was 6'2", my mom is 5'8" or 5'9" and my brother is 6'5", but I am 5'11". And yes, my brother and I look very similar.
My parents are both 5'7". My brother and I are both 6 foot.
If you take an x ray of the femur and look at the growth plates there you can predict within about 2 inches 100% of the time. Also as someone else mentioned the 2 year old thing is accurate within the 95 percentile.
Tell your son the only way he becomes 6'4 is if he becomes a runner and runs under 4:30 freshmen year of high school and 4:10 senior year, otherwise he will only be 5'8
It's a good thing he's black, he fits right in:). He plays in a league that's primarily black, there is one all white team though that is always contending for regional championships.

Have you noticed that your Dr is 6'4" ?
Have you noticed that his Dr is a girl? F'tard
Assuming the height thing works out, remind him that he'll need some baby mamas once he makes the league.
He won't be playing college ball if he writes like you do.

My son is a very talented basketball player for his age, he want's to play college ball when he get's older but knows his height might be a limiting factor as my wife and I are short; she's 5'6". He is 4'11" and this morning my Dr. told him at a check up he would grow up to be around 6'2" to 6'4". Now he is happy as hell and is positive he going to be this tall because his Dr. told him so. I told him she was making an educated guess and no one knows how tall anyone will grow up.
Can you tell height by how tall a kid is at a certain age? I thought it was solely genetics? Should I find another Dr.?
