Something to the effect of : "Hey, for what I do, skinny is how you gotta be."
Treat it as an opportunity to bring up the importance of being thin in distance running/passively dig at them for being sedentary sacks of shit.

If you want to see skinny- look in my pants!
Dean Karnasez is never called skinny. In fact, women think he is downright hunky.
I'm 5-10, 140 and nobody ever tells me I'm too skinny. Maybe you just need to stop hanging around fatties.

I'm 5'9" 150# and I get this kind of crap too. Most of them are slightly overweight people who are just giving me a friendly ribbing, so I can handle their attempts at "humor". I usually tell them that I'm actually at a normal healthy weight, but our country as a whole is so fat and unhealthy that they don't understand what "normal" is anymore. Is this not the truth?

Yes.
When you go to other countries, people as a whole are not as overwheight as Americans.
The simple reason is, capitalism.
We are free to sell anything whether it is healthy or unhealthy.
We can market it to be 'super tasting'
Many foreign countries don't have our fast food chains for a reason. Unfortunatley they are slowly becoming more common in other countries. And?
These same countries are becoming higher on the list of rankings of countries with overweight people.
Good for us. Good influences. Good for capitalism!
"....and you're ugly, but I'll gain weight in the next few years!"
The lean wolf gets raped by the strong wolf. Bend over fudge packer!
At 5'2" and 100 pounds, I really get sick of hearing "you're too skinny" too. I REALLY want to respond, "Well, you're too fat", but somehow, this is socially unacceptable. Like being thin is a character flaw that you need to correct, but being too fat isn't their fault. At my height and weight, I'd only need 1100 calories a day if I didn't exercise. I typically eat more than that before lunch! I usually just say "Yeah, I eat a lot, but I run a lot too."
I'm 5'10'' and 145ish. I get told I'm anarexic all the time by people who are definitely overweight. Never from people who are of a semi-normal BMI or whatever. I have no problem telling them that they are fat. A common response of mine is "When I get out of the shower, I look at myself and think "damn I look good." How often can you do that?"
If they insist (women) that they have curves and its sexy, I just am honest and tell them that curvy is what fat people tell themselves is curvy because they want to feel sexy, but really, they are just fat.
I don't like fat people very much.
Im skinny as hell but no one ever says anything to me because I'm such a boss. I like having a six (sometimes 8) pack. But honestly if somebody says you're TOO skinny, you shouldnt worry about being polite to them. Thats a jackass move on their part. Its not too hard to think of things to say. Examples:
Well good thing Im not insecure, unlike you. (and if some one said that, they are.)
Didnt your mom ever teach you manners? maybe I dont wanna look like a fat f*ck (then stare at their body).
Eat more pussy than you ever will (if its true).
Hey better than being a fat bitch (which is probably what I would say, it will leave them expressionless).
You have a small penis (you can say that to anyone that insults you).
If you have one, show them your 6 pack.
5'8" 140 ur a twig
Im 5'7" and clock in around 150
I'm 6-5 and 260 pounds. Nobody calls me fat. They throw money in my mouth as I run by them.
Some more info on me: I'm jacked, tan, have 4:11 Mile run capability, 16 inch penis, and i'm bangin 43 women.
My reply: "My wife and I decided we wanted sex 24/7 and so decided to lose the weight and go for it. We never regretted it.
Ain't sex wonderful!
If somebody calls me skinny I shrug it off if they are of normal weight. If they are overweight I ask them if they have ever been on a treadmill before.
Problem solved.

I'm definitely not as thin as most distance runners...I'm 5'8 140lbs. However, every now-and-then someone will comment on my size and say I'm too skinny and I look like I need to eat something.
What is the best way to respond to a comment like this? (especially since I am healthier than the people making these comments...) I personally think it is sad that "normal" is now considered to be slightly overweight.
It's an American thing. We are fat, the rest of the world isn't. Im going to go eat a big flippin breakfast for dinner now!

When girls say that curves are sexy, or that real women have curves, I let them know that curves are only sexy when they're free of cellulite, and that women can be as real as they want, but they still aren't sexy. Thin models are called a fantasy for a reason.
If people tell me I'm too skinny, I respond based on how well I know them. If it's a friend or a member of their family, I just laugh and say something along the lines of 'when you run my mileage, that's what happens.' If it's someone I don't know as well, I just say 'better 10 pounds too light than 20 too heavy.'
if its a dude, tell him that you're not comfortable with him eye f***ing you
if its a chick, remind her that she's jealous
And you are...?
Dude or chick? Just curious.
I cry.
Why is it acceptable to make comments on someone's weight if they are skinny but not if they are fat?[/quote]
Amen! I get this crap all the time.
