Paula Radcliffe sucks. Her record is so old! World records are being broken and paula's not one of them. Lineth Chepkurui has 12k world record and Tirunesh has 15k world record and linet masai has 10 mile world record. Paula cannot run their timings!!!!!!!!!

boring race. loads of talent and none of them wanted to run with the rabbits. this isn't usa's. run fast ladies!
Nancy Langat wins over Defar - didn't get Langat's time - looked like about 4:01 for Defar.
They all ran weak. Wurth Thomas was the only one with guts in that field. This wasn't a championship race, I don't know why you would allow the rabbits to gap you, they are there for a reason. Wurth Thomas, although she didn't win, earned a lot of respect.

3 africans were calm and collected and they executed it perfect. all this crap of american 1500 runners is just talk talk talk. they don't produce results.
They got spanked by defar who is a 5k specialist..how can a specialist in the 1500 get beat by a runner who is not even a specialist.
PS flanagan! what is the big idea about running this race.. one day she is planning to run a marathon... she should have run the 10k mini.. instead of getting spanked here.
Considering Defar closed her #2 5k of all time 14:12 in 4:06 or so, she could definitely have beat a lot of these runners (as she did).

But why have rabbits going 2:09 when no one is going with them? Wurth Thomas probably wanted to run as close as possible to 4min. So why not follow the rabbits in an evenly paced first 900 or 1000m instead of relying on s strong kick? It's not as if the rabbits' pace was like 3:55 or so! She gave it a try and did not succeed.

As you said Flanagan is training for a marathon, and is a bronze medalist in the 10,000. Jenny Barringer is a SC specialist and just this year has decided to seriously race the other distances - 1500 & 5000, so all the Americans are NOT 1500 specialist, and Jenny was damn close to third place. Give the American women the credit they deserve - they held their own.
doug is a moron without doubt, but it is very possible that defar can run 3'56 - i think she is capable of running even upto 3'53 with an eyeballs out gun-to-tape'r
the problem is, in a slow race, as this was, with a wurthless pace to the bell ( don't be deceived by end time ), she is going to get whupped by an elite 1500'er
she likely does not have better than 56s open speed, against nancy who must be nearer 54s
in a slow race, where nancy isn't too taxed, her better basic will win in a fast last lap
this is same situation as kennster who got crushed by choge & komen2 in slowish 1500s - the fast last laps in slow 5k he & defar run are actually close to their open 400s becuae of their incredible endurance, but they are intrinsically nothing better than 51 or 56 open 400 guys/gals & will get crushed over 1500 in slowish 1500s by the elites
defar though, is worth qualitatively better at 1500 than kennster - 3'53 compared to maybe 3'31, but she won't beat nancy or ruskies in a slow-to-bell 1500
