The women are going to go out tactically because they are dumb. Every woman is passed by the 1000m.

They need to run the guys in lanes in lane 3 giving them the correct starting location. That way no one gets in the way.
I like the idea, might be kinda hookey but could garner attention outside of the hardcore track nerds.
Yeah, keeping them in different lanes is the only safe way to run this race. Men in lanes 1-3 and women in 4-6, or vice versa, with the starting lines adjusted to account for the extra distance in lane 4. (or just put the women in the outside lanes and add more time to their headstart to account for the extra distance).
If it were up to me I'd just give the women a head start in distance, or maybe move the guys to an outside lane so they're still in the same place, but running a longer distance
So, the question that has not been answered here is: Does only the first person across the line get the one-year sponsorship? Or will there be sponsorships available for both the first man and first woman?
1 sponsorship and a lot of hurt feelings
You guys are so pathetic - what's really going on here is that you are afraid a woman will win.
a woman WILL NOT WIN unless they get AT LEAST 40 seconds. Prediction is male winner is 3:57-8 and woman is 4:42-3
at worst, the men will move out to lane 2 or 3 when they're coming out of the final turn onto the homestretch. no "weaving."

Using the WR's or even AR's for the miles isn't really fair.
You're making the assumption that they are equal, but men's miles are run much more frequently than women's miles.
The 1500m is run equally for both groups and the WR is only 24sec apart.
Oh, and guess what the 800 is only 12 seconds apart! Wow, why does it keep getting less and less as the distance decreases? HMMMMMMMM?????
The records are skewed since doping aids women more than men. In the post-epo-testing era, M/W 3:30=3:58, or 28 seconds. 29 seconds for the mile is perfect for undoped runners.
Check out Shayla Houlihan getting ready to take down the guys. I'm a fan!
