No, it's just bring back some balance, and not nearly compensating for the hype that normal running shoes have gotten.
exactly! I love running. I'm very passionate about it. I wish more people ran. I don't understand why many runners are actually mad about the barefoot thing. Do you have stock in brooks or something? I mean seriously??? What people are wearing or not wearing upsets you? I also can't understand why people blame the shoe companies and why people trust the shoe companies are actually trying to help them run better.
Shoe companies realized people like buying gizmos and gadgets so they over-built shoes and tried to outdo each other with the latest tech and crazy marketing story. They are trying to make a profit, plain and simple. They are all jumping on the minimal thing because there is money in it now.
Barefoot runners are at least taking their running into their own "hands" (feet) and not relying on huge corporations to help them run better.
Personal responsibility! It's something we need to see more of. For some, barefooting is a way to do that. Will it cause pain and injury? Yes, absolutely!
But don't get me wrong, many barefooters are NOT taking personal responsibility for their running. They are still relying on a company (vibram) or a theory (BF running) instead of relying on themselves.
