She made a really coffee today. I thought there was a connection, but then again I'm not smart when it comes to ladies. She does know my name though thats gotta be a plus right?

I don't tip her at all, and there is no tip jar.

When you ask her out, try to be very casual about it, almost like it's an off-the-cuff proposal. And if the answer no (which will more than likely come in the form of an excuse that you will know to be false)just take it in stride and continue on with the conversation as if it weren't really that important anyway, just an idea that occured to you. This will eliminate the awkwardness of having been turned down and you can continue to go there for coffee and have chit chats with her just as before, as if nothing ever happened. Of course if she says yes, then so much the better.

Didn't you see "Office Space?" Invite her out to a competing restaurant for lunch, then invite her over to watch "Kung Fu."

How about if you try to get her phone number first? If you two are chatting and you mention something you love to do, and she enjoys it too, then just tell her to write her number down and you'll text/call so you can do that thing together. Or you can tell her that a bunch of friends are going out on friday night and that she should come, even if she comes up with excuses you can say, oh c'mon, here give me your number, and I'll shoot you a text, and we'll go from there. That's how I got my last gf, who is now an ex, but that's a different story. We never went out with friends either on a friday night, but I did give her crap for ditching me.

Flip open your MacBook on the counter and show her a PowerPoint presentation on why she should go out with you.

WTF ask her out why do you sorryass LRs quake in fear at every conversation with a female. Do you have any problem suggesting seeing a movie or having dinner with your male friends. suggest getting together in the same way you ask your frien ds.

So many of you look at dating as a long term thing-dating is folks getting to know each other, having a relationship come well after dating.

This is brilliant. I forgot that was basically how I got my girlfriend of three years to go out with me. Thank you!

I'm also the guy with a girlfriend 3 years ago I was still upset over, mostly because I've been unsure as to whether I will get someone as physically attractive as my ex (who is like model looks). She's the type I'm so attacted to I kind of want to stalk her and make her life hell because of what she did to me but I have had to use quite a bit of self control

Its been 8 weeks. I'm just now starting to get over her. Just a little bit. My ex though wasn't a model like, as in your case. I would put her at 2-3/10. That was my initial rating of her. When she broke up with me she was a 11/10 because I was so in love with her. I complimented her everyday told her how beautiful she was. But she kept telling that she was fat and so on. She was 180 pounds and 5 foot 5, so i'll let you guys decide.

Whether or not this is a troll, I can never understand why people are so reluctant to nicely ask somebody out that they're going to see again. There's very little risk involved. If she says no, you go back the next day and order coffee again. It's not as though you're going to have to have an emotional, three hour breakup the next time you go into the shop.

Also, with the coffee shop girl if it goes bad, you get over it fast.

One time I got rejected bigtime. Before I met the gf 3 yrs ago, ok, I asked a girl I thought had a crush on me (because she asked my friends if I had a girlfriend) out over AIM. She didn't respond to my requests so I asked my friend to then ask her if she got my AIM messages (stupid) - to know if she ignored them or not. Then when it was me, friend, and the girl all back in a.community service club it was so awkward lemme tell u. My friend and her and her friends knew I got slammed. I saw her laughing with her girlfriend at me. Heck I wanted to hide and not show up, but I had to take it like a man and just keep my feelings to myself. I later saw her friend wrote on her facebook wall "oh (name of girl) haha hope u had fun at (name of comm service event) you heartbreaker you!" Wow still was embarrassed. Yea I'm insecure and overly sensitive but whatever. The girl I had 3 yrs ago blew that one away so not like I care anymore

Do it with class and humor.

"Hey, are you seeing anybody? Because if you're not I'd be interested in taking you out for coffee. I know that is ironic, since we are in a coffee shop... And by the way, it won't effect your tip or anything if you say 'yes'."

If she's interested; she'll laugh and say something like "that would be nice..." At which point you close the deal. Make the date then, let her choose time, place. Exchange numbers.

She may or may not get hit on a lot / enough at work, or already be involved. Just don't put too much weight into this, or take it personally if she declines.
