I was at the airport last week picking up my girl. A girl got out of the car in front of me to signal to the person she was picking up. She was a yummy looking white girl, fit, nice proportions, nice skin, cute face, not chunky in the ass. Up walks a black fellow who kisses her before they both get in her car. It goes back to slavery. Black people were taught the lighter or whiter the better. Its the field/house slave mentality. Some black people want to be white, because there are privliges to being white or light. Can you name a leading lady in Hollywood who is dark-skinned. You rarely even see a dark-skinned archor lady. This mentality is even in the black community. Light skinned blacks are treated better than dark skinned blacks. Therefore when some blacks achieve success, they feel they have to get a white girl.

Let's face it. Halle Berry is smokin' hot. Since she's half B&W, has anyone thought that this could be a "metaphor" for black and whites to work together because it could result in something nice? (I'm not talking specific B&W relations but those of you who know me, know my wife is a dark skinned hispanic and I'm a WASP. We have a beautiful son. We've actually been handed business cards from modeling agencies for him.)

God, I need to get myself a minority woman. White women are boring me. I'd love a halfrican or little asian gal. Actually, one of my life goals is to marry an Asian girl, but they are in very short supply here. I may move to Hawaii or Cali some day to pick one up though.

I'm Korean and I grew up in the inner city and hung around blacks and thought I was black as a kid. I married my Jewish gf after college. Jewish girls are very nice too you know. She's olive skinned. Looks more Arab but whatever...

It is a combination of genes and marketing.

People have actually evolved to find mates who aren't related to them. There are good reasons why a lot of men are hot for exotic women-- there is no chance that they share a common ancestor...

Marketing and socialization also play a role. If you think about it, pale and chubby was the female ideal at 1900. Nowadays, with everyone a little chunky from sitting behind their computer monitors, thin and tan is attractive.

If you spent your whole life looking at movies and posters glorifying the beauty of African women, you'd have posters of them up on your wall too...
