What is trendy is white woke people. Do you really think those masks (even surgical masks) let alone those fashionable masks that many woke white people wear actual protect you from breathing in ambient air? If you do, you have been fooled.

Of course they don't protect you from breathing in ambient air - that's not the point and you would suffocate. (Also, why on earth wouldn't you want ambient air? That's the non-contaminated kind.) They do, however, cut the rate of transmission - even a simple cotton face covering cuts it at something like 50% - not ideal but a lot better than nothing. There are so many diverse and interesting studies out there, from a range of different countries. Virtually all of the reputable, peer reviewed ones say exactly the same thing - that washing hands regularly and well, social distancing and masks cut transmission.
Super thick hipster beards/looking like you live in the woods and the longer hair associated with them (man bun) have fallen a bit out of style. Couple days stubble is a classic that never dies. I've been seeing more uneven styles recently, like growing a goatee but keeping the mustache super thick compared to the chin.
10 year old thread but still a bit pertinent. I used to have a beard and stache. Had it for many years. Then I got rid of both. Now I would never grow anything just because everyone else is doing it. I'd rather just be different by not having any facial hair.
