I woukd not say it is impossible, but not likely; there is no way she is going to beat Barringer, Kuijken, Bizzarri, they are world class athletes; however, I do think she is capable of competing with the top girls from Wash and Nova. Top 5 would be great, but top-10 is more likely; NCAA XC for the women and men has become extremely competitve because of that '08 class. I remember a few years ago when a sub-24 8k and sub-20:30 6k use to get talked about, but it is almost commonplace now.

Susan Kuijken looked unbelievable in that race. I don't think she makes it that easy on Jenny B at nationals. Susan won't outkick Jenny but man is Susan smooth, or what. It was pretty entertaining to watch her. Also, I wish we got to see how Jordan Hasay went from 7th to 3d in less than 500m after she looked finished early in the race.
I'm not a huge running geek but these XC races were pretty fun to watch on Flotrack. I started following this stuff more after watching the summer track meets on Universal Sports, Channel 4-3 over the air in Washington, DC. I'm not saying the sport is the NFL or anything but I think the US might be an opportunity to make these races popular. Will they show NCAA on CBS College Sports or ESPN? I know the latter has some sort of deal in the non-revenue sports with regard to Championships.
You can see Hasay pass 2 runners near the finish on runnerspace. One was pooped and the other would have been 3rd if she had tried.
The championships will be live on Versus.
Watch out for Brisman, she's gonna be the surprise sleeper at this natioanls race. She's def. good enough to get top 7 I just can't wait for her to open up next week.

Bizzarri is the "best of the rest". Schaaf wil do her late-season "crumple" and not be in top-10. Hasay around 5th-8th.

I think you can peg her at somewhere between 7/8 all the way to 20th place. She won't be any higher than that--the look on her face going uphill around the 4K mark indicated that she was going full effort. Don't know how much improvement she'll see the rest of the way. But, she was definitely not sitting back.
A given: nobody touches Barringer ~ even more of a dominant front runner than Sally K. Kuijken would be smart to race the pack and secure 2nd for her FS team. Barringer is pure power while Kuijken is graceful.
I think UW runners will pack up well with the opportunity to get 3, maybe 4 in the top 10 - 15.
Hasay is a gamer and will move up and cover breaks along the way. Easy top 10 finish with a shot at top 5.
Let the fun begin.
Villanova could conceivably win the team title if they aren't peaking early. They ran 20:13, :15, :18, :19, :40 at Virginia. If you cut 30 seconds from Washington's times for the conditions, they ran 19:59, 20:07, :08, :33, :53. #4 and #5 look vulnerable, but you known how badly race comparisons go.

It doesn't really matter what Kujiken or the others do, Jenny Barringer is going to be 10 seconds a mile ahead of the field at NCAAs.

Have you ever seen Jenny Barringer or Susan Kuijken ever blow up?!! Jordan is a great runner maybe top 10; no way gold or silver this year. She just doesn't compare to these two senior girls... Jordan is without a dout will be one of the contenders in the future for the win, tho.

Cut time from Washington? The course in Virginia was rained on for 3 days prior to that meet being run. If anything, the conditions in Virginia were probably worse than they were at ISU. Besides, Nova had NOBODY to run with but themselves. Washington women had a race to run and plenty of people in front to chase. All 4 of Nova's women were faster than the course record by Kujiken. Of course, like you said, you know how comparisons go! Can't wait for Nationals...
Hasay should transfer to Colorado if she wants to realize her full potential. At Oregon she will probably stagnate. There certainly hasn't been any breakthroughs for Kosinski.
Did you watch the race. Susan K. was at the front of the chase pack then droppped back at least 100 yds. to run with a teammate, then just went back to take second without any effort, she will be in it for the win.
