Actually, as I read the article he was directly insurbordinate to his superior, and *that* was why he was asked to leave.
The chances of its happening were small, but suppose something bad (I don't even know what) had happened at a practice or meet, and the assistant was involved? Would the district's--this is a public school, right?--insurance cover the illegal-immigrant assistant? I seriously doubt it. The head coach's supervisor has to keep the good of the district (and the taxpayers who support it) in mind.
The supervisor told the head coach--three times--to keep the assistant away. No, it was NOT the supervisor's job to say anything to the assistant, when he saw him again; it was the head coach's job, which he refused to perform.

The athletic director is a dip shit who has no business being in a position that has anything to do with teenagers or children.
It was not the coach's job to be a unthinking robot for the athletic director, nor to be a mouthpiece for the a.d., nor to pass on the a.d.'s dirty laundry.
A good coach's job is to be there #1 for the kids on the team, and to set the best example for them that is possible. This is exactly what he is doing, and it is why the team is sticking up for him all the way. When these kids are adults they will always remember their coach, and will probably stay in close touch with him.

It's a sad story, but this is the law folks. For every story similar to this, there's 10 more about an illegal alien who commits murder or rape. My parents came over from South America and they did it the right way. They applied for residency, got their green cards and then became citizens.
I'm guessing NONE of the supporters on LR live in Az. If you ask how many guys on the team are illegal as well, the answer would most likely be 100%. I have no tolerance for illegals overtaking the US. They pay little if any taxes, don't have any insurance on anything (themselves, vehicles, houses, etc). And they bring the Mexico standard of living to the US.
If you think your standard of living has decreased or will decrease, thank an illegal immigrant. If you don't think your standard of living is going down in the next 10 years, you're dreaming.

You are the dip shit. It sounds like the AD was being very generous, and did absolutely the right thing. He was looking out for the coach and the assistant possibly. You don't know where the pressure was coming from to make this guy go away. You thikn the AD spent all his time researching to find out he was an illegal? Or do you think it's more likely someone else complained and the AD was just doing his job.

How many people who use this argument can honestly say they have never gone 50 in a 45, or parked in a handicap spot for “just a second”? I understand that some laws are absolutely necessary and should never be broken, but in this respect, our immigration laws should not be one of them. The people who say “it’s the law” are the same people who would have excused slavery using the same ideal.

Illegal aliens have nothing to do with the cost of taxes and insurances in the United States. Those decisions are made by politicians and the rich families who own them. The answer is to get rid of the politians, the rich families who keep sucking the labor and property from others. It's about time they started to pay their own way, and that we put a stop their theft and brutality.

And when I drive over the speed limit and get caught, I pay the consequences.
Interesting that the criminal background check did not catch that he was not here legally. AZ needs to find out how that happened. I deal with criminal background checks on a regular basis and would like to know how it happened.
I'm sorry that he lost his job. He was here illegaly which is againist the law. The illegals or liberals want to only apply the law when they want to. What happens to the money of a drug dealer that was spending his money on a good cause? Does he get to keep it or stay out of jail because he was doing something good with the illegal money? We need to enforce the law!!! This country also has alot of illegals which are not productive. We can't choose. Its either they come in or they don't come into this country. What is questionable? Do they use drugs or something? It says alot as to the character of the coaches, and personal realtionships with runners if the entire team willingly forfeits a season. As ar as I'm concerned that alone is enough to establish this was something special.
I don't know why they would tell someone to stay away from the team simply for being arrested as an illegal immigrant. The artical says he had been coaching for 12 seasons and had gone to college in Arizona. Seems to me someone probably had a personal issue with the guy to raise hell over this all of a sudden. Maybe even a coach in the same district.
This just seems absurd, the only thing that comes from this is that a bunch of high school runners lose their season.
WHy can't we have it both ways. You move the negative to the external and keep the positives within the country. Those of you taking the side of the head coach have obviously never been coaches yourself. If one of those kids gets injured or something, and the parent finds out that an ILLEGAL ALIEN was the one left in charge, then the school is going to get sued. That is a ridiculously huge liability.
The AD was 1000000% correct in this case. You cannot have an illegal immigrant working for your team, even in a volunteer capacity.
