Serena Willims threatens to Kill Line judge...then DQ!

Serena got a bit uppity. It ain't no big thang.

Williams had not dropped a set all tournament. She was on cruise control and seemingly unbeatable.

A T-Shirt she wore earlier this week said it all: "Can't Spell Dynasty Without Nasty." But that shirt cast its own spell.

Serena was being dominated by Kim and wanted a way out, I am surprised she didn't fake a injury. Instead she deliberately recreats a situation in which she gets DQ so Kim can't technically say she beat Serena (Sad for Kim). Serena is not sorry and never will be. Serena list John McEnroe as of her hero after the match. McEnroe is one the all time unsportsmanlike athletes ever to play sports. Well Serena, welcome to the TOP TEN!

To be honest McEnroe was more of a baby and never ever theaten anyone directly at this level (ex: that was Fusking crazy call are you fusking kidding me!)! Serena looked like a street thug trying to intimate and rob someone out there, but afterwards at the news conference she tried to come accross as having a sweet and gentle disposition.........that was funny.

Serena's always been a sore loser. Wasn't it just recently she lost some tournament, and in the post-game/match interview she said how her opponent didn't beat her, she [Williams] just made too many mistakes and lost it.

She was penalized one point. It just happened that she was penalized when she was facing match point - in fact the double fault made it 15-40 so she was facing two match points.

I'm afraid this is going to overshadow the fact that she was being outplayed by a wide margin.

A one-point penalty is entirely reasonable for what she did. She just picked a very bad point in the match to throw a tantrum.

Hurray for the US Open officials. I enjoyed Serena being tossed very much.

This is no surprise, Serena has always been a very poor sport and never respectful to opponents. Clisters was going to take the match, Serena was falling apart. Usually she fakes injury when she loses and she never says anything complimentary about her opponent.

By the way did she ever apologize for the disrespect that she showed to the sport, the fans, her opponent and the officials.

I wonder if she'll be rewarded for her behavior with a career in the broadcast booth like John McEnroe. She's won more grand slams than he has. She hasn't been as obnoxious as he has throughout the length of his career however, and she hasn't admitted to drug use like he did.

She has been "rewarded" with a shockng number of gigs for product endorsements.

Its very very inappropriate and we have to go back 30 years to find another player bringing the same level of disrespect to the sport.

Oh please. McEnroe maybe didn't threaten to shove a ball down an official's throat, but on COUNTLESS occasions he:

a) swore directly at officials

b) strongly insulted them (calling them pathetic fools, embarrassment to the game, worthless, completely incompetent)

c) threatened their jobs (saying they would never work in tennis, or at least at his matches, again)

d) threw his racket in their directions

e) screamed at the top of his lungs right in their face

Actually, she wasn't penalized a point for the outburst. It was a code violation. But she already had one code violation in the match -- for smashing her racquet after losing the first set. A second code violation is a loss of a point, which is what happened. I think the third is the loss of a game.

If she didn't have that violation one, she would just have been given a warning for what she said, which seems a bit tepid given what she said.

Tennis now has detailed rules as to penalties and what are code violations.

In the following press conferences she spent ZERO time apologizing for acting like a 3 year old, ZERO time saying anything about her opponent (that just schooled and destroyed her on the court), and ALL of her time marginalizing and defending her actions by comparing it to Jon Macenroe and claiming that all good tennis players have an aggressive style and that's what makes her good.

You can be passionate and aggressive and every bit intense at what you do and still act like a grown-up and treat people with respect ....... what a classless loser.

if a guy did the same thing in sports he'd be known as an enforcer, or a tough guy. some people would knock him, but just as many would (secretly) admire his intensity and determination and badassness. people would make excuses for him and say that it was his livelihood and he had every right to be upset at some idiot trying to cheat him out of his livelihood, etc. you all know it is truth. go ahead and say you disagree if you please.
