I don't find anything that Bolt does funny or entertaining. It's annoying. Tremendous athlete, I love to watch him run, but not all that other stuff. I watched him lose 200's to Spearmon religiously and he was quiet and focused on the details. Now he blows Spearmon out of the water by 40 meters and it's like another person.

Powell and Blake are complete idiots with their bandwagon celebrations after getting left so far behind in all these races. What are you celebrating? It makes no sense to me. That's so non-competitive it makes me sick.

Lastly, the pre-race stuff in their respective lanes was extremely disrespectful in my opinion. I don't know much about pre-race stuff for sprinters but from watching in the past, it seems everyone is doing their own thing, a few handshakes beforehand, and then go to work. Usain bolt was joking around with Daniel Bailey doing some dance while they were sitting on their yellow lane cones and he was clearly mocking Tyson Gay for not joining in and being focused. And Powell was all in Gay's lane watching the heptathlon victory lap, totally disrespecting Gay's space. That is what makes 9.71 even more amazing, because Tyson Gay could have easily been thrown off of his game.

On the other hand, my brother yelled "It's over" at 30 meters and I yelled "No it's not" b/c I hoped Bolt might freeze up with Gay right next to him off a good start.

Sweeney Todd stop being such a tight ass. If you have not figured it out Bolt's clowning around is part of his pre race strategy. Asafa figured it out and that is why he put down a SB instead of choking. Lighten the f*ck up.

The sport is now changing and a new, clean star is born in the name of Usain Bolt from the God-Blessed island of Jamaica, so you all better get used to it and get with the progremme. Screw Tyson Gay, humble of not. Maybe the reason he is humble is because one of the side effects of the many drugs he is taking is that he becomes an introvert. I think we've all been watching sprinting long enough to get a sense when someone is doping..ask yourself honestly, does Bolt look even remotely over-muscled or bulked up? He looks like a well muscled deer bounding along, not a 'roid case. I'm not going to commit a libel against anyone but the bulging muscles on the more slightly built frames of some of the sprinters did raise some questions in my mind, but for what it's worth, Bolt looks clean.

I get a little tired of his excessive celebrating too, but I try to remember two things: First, all champions celebrate and they chose to focus on Bolt celebrating for 5 minutes before they finally got back to race analysis; Bolt probably doesnt celebrate a whole lot more than anyone else, we just are forced to watch it. Secondly, I read an interview or article of some sort where he explained that all his celebrating at the olympics was a nod to his cultural background. It may come off as unseemly to some, but I'm sure we can understand that his parameters may be a bit different.

It's hard accept that someone ran a clean 9.58 because it's like flying cars-something we were told is going to happen far off in the future, it at all. It's hard to compute that it happened today, but let's not just assume Bolt is doping, based on no evidence beyond an 'other-world record.'

Lastly, Congratulations on an excellent performance and well-run race, Tyson Gay.

I honestly have no problem with Bolt Showboating. He was wrong to pull-up in the Olympics 100m. He was called out on it, and in the 200m there was no pulling-up to celebrate. He ran through the line. Secondly, if that was really that offensive, the same people should be calling out Ryan Hall for the mile worth of showboating he did at the trials in '07.

Secondly, If he was mocking Gay and Powell and everyone else, that'd be wrong. However, he's not. It's like they or anyone esle doesn't exist. It's just Bolt playing to the crowd and the cameras. He's the fastest man in the world. He deserves to bask in the glory so long as he's not mocking his competition.

Though I like Bolt, I admire Gay. His poise and humility are rare in any sport. As everyone has said, he is a one of a kind athlete and person.

If every race in T&F has it's own Tyson Gay and Bolt, Worlds would be one hell of a meet, more so than it is already. The contrast in styles and personalities no doubt added to the drama and excitiment of the 100m.

I think America has been so disappointed in the past by their very own athletes that they have become so accustomed to thinking the worst, the funny thing though is if Bolt were an American, these very same posters would be asking Tyson who? and placing Usain in the history book's where he belongs well guess what Usain is Jamaican and as a Jamaican, I am asking Tyson who? You guys who say he's not doped because he's not jacked are idiots. You really think the only PEDs out there are those which add bulk? Geez, is your memory so short you can't even remember back three years ago to Justin Gatlin? That guy wasn't bulky at all, and wasn't even very defined, at least compared to most sprinters.

I know it's easy to say, but if Bolt was an American I'd be saying the same damn thing, I'd just be more disappointed because it'd be my own countryman. Gay might be dirty too, but when someone lowers the 100m record more in 15 months than it's been lowered in the 20 years(!) before him, you have to be a blind fool to not be at least a little skeptical.

Gay's run was truly amazing. Bolt did not pull away from him much, if at all in the list 50 meters. I think Gay's leg turnover rate was probably the fastest for any human ever. Compared to the other guys in the race Gay's legs are a total blur.

As for the Jamaicans being on drugs, do you people really think that Jamaican chemists could come up with some sort of drug unattainable and undetectable by the best chemists in the United States. I do not want to insult the scientific community of Jamaica, but if there are any magic undetectable performance enhancing drugs they are going to be coming out of Europe, the United States, or Asia.

I was kind of thinking the same thing - Jamaica just doesn't seem to be a scientific hot spot, does it?

Yeah, Jamaica is kinda like Bahrain in that regards. They aren't scientific hot spots. Therefore, nobody who runs out of those countries could be using performance enhancing drugs. Right?

I always appreciated Tyson Gay because he wasn't the typical my excrement doesn't stink sprinter... you know the type that trash talks everyone up and down before and after the race and than if is defeated can't stand it.. unfortunately in the 90's that was the model of sprinter we came to expect especially in the 100 meter.

I certainly have way more in common with Gay's mentality than Bolt's but I don't see Bolt's hamming around as cocky or offensive it's just his style and it does not look like he is trying to denigrate anyone with it, he just looks like a happy go lucky guy who can run a 9.58 when he feels like it.

Tyson has to work harder, he is more focused which can come across as arrogant or self absorbed but that’s just what he needs to do like Bolt needs to do his hamming around. His 9.71 was amazing and its almost too bad that he ran that time here instead of at a US meet or somewhere else where such an amazing time would have got the respect it deserves. But at least he can cool down and know he did everything he could to win.

But, if Bolt has event he smell of cheating track and field is done, I mean finished for at least 20 years. Our sport's credibility now rests on Bolt's shoulders and while I do not believe he cheats I am scared if he does because the entire believability of the sport comes down to this one athlete and we are all flawed and vulnerable people. I just hope that in 5 years when he gets older and maybe the running becomes a bit more difficult he doesn't get the temptation to use something because if it happens it will ruin all the good will Bolt has given to the sport.

That being said I don't think he is a cheat anymore than I think Gay is a cheat.. I just think they are both incredibly talented men. If I were to have my way my kid would have the work ethic of Tyson Gay and the love of life that Bolt exudes.
