7:28.64 for Bekele beats Lagat by 4 seconds

Another example of ignorantly predicting every young runner to break BK's records.

BK ran under 7:30, and low 7:30's often. He ran 12:58, relying on the insane 7:30 fitness. Anyone still predicting guys like Hall or Ritz to take BK's marks down?? Anyone saying German or Hall will do it, like they predicted Goucher to??

BK's times are so disrespected... and it IS disrespect when everyone predicts them to be broken every year.

What happened? I though Lagat was going to bust a 7:30 at least.

Lagat busted a PB! what else do you want from a guy at his age. 7:33 is not exactly a crappy run. This makes me believe that Lagat is producing at the very top of his fitness ability. I dont think he has much more to give or we would see it.

That Being said, BIG PROPS to KB for knowing what it woulod take to beat Lagat and being man enough to take the race to him. He was a stud! I think there could be a great future for German 'Metronome' Fernandez to be a rabbit for Bekele. Just take him out in a bunch of 59 second laps and let KB finish the real work at the end.

True except lagat was already ahead of the guy that fell. Lagat was rigt behind kenny the whole race but just couldn't keep up with the pace. Its still a pb for bernie so its not like he had a bad race. Great race for solinsky as well. I wonder what teg could've ran in this race 7:36.9 perhaps.

Plain and simple: Kenny B handed Lagat his ass wrapped in wax paper. With a rose attached. Old fashioned ass kickin.

Dude its like I said earlier. Ventolin is the NEW 430 miler. Its interesting everytime I call him out on it he doesn't respond but instead consistanly posts his absurd and meaningless equations.

Yeah, it is very 430miler-like, except the athletes are different. Ventolin has a crush on Lagat and hates Bekele whereas 430 LOVES Tergat and hates Geb. 430 also hates Lagat but loves Webb and Bekele. Anyone else on Ventolin's list?

This was always the most likely outcome, many many posters called it and it was plain to see that if Bekele kept a strong pace Lagat would not want to go with it and Bekele would prevail.

Now some people have got ideas in their head that Lagat in his mid-thirties as a slower runner is suddenly going to become 8 seconds faster and develop a big kick at this pace..

Anyone who had any reasonable knowledge gave the latter blindly pro-US lobby very little credence.
