What happened to Edwin Soi and Thomas Longosiwa? They were originally on the start list as well as Bobby Curtis. Last second scratches?
Good run for Lagat and Kogo. I wonder where Tegenkamp and Solinsky would've finished in that race. They should be rounding into good shape as well, but I don't think they're anywhere near Lagat.

chelanga is at best a 13:15 ish guy give or take 1-2 seconds in the perfect the race, and the perfect race has a pace setter and group of guys runnig even splits heading for this type of time
this race had 2 packs...one group going for sub 13, which chelanga is not ready for yet, and one that for some reason or another turned tactical to a 13:30 time with a close kick, where chelanga was out raced
basically there was no good place here for a guy trying to break 13:20 but not ready to go close to 13 (chelanga cannot run 13:13 the same way gebre did)
in different setting chelanga could PROBABLY go a lot faster (who knows though he didnt at stanford, though that was extremely close to his 10000 CR and another weirdly paced race)

You obviously weren't there. The wind was from the west or southwest, pretty much coming from the direction of the Cirque du Soleil tents. It was windy and warm. I agree with Malmo that if the meet had been scheduled for the evening, the way it was in past years, the AR could have fallen.
The pace maker did fantastic job, i watched the race n i sucked the all head wind.
Thomas Longisiwa and Edwin Soi did not get US VISAs in time to be able to travel to New York for the race.Hopefully they will have them early enough to make it to Eugene .
The wind was not to bad down on the track every race had e legal wind except the women's 100m dash I believe. No matter what time you schedule the races for you can never really tell with the wind on the island.
