What's with Makau? Three months ago he ran sub 28 en route a half marathon and now 28:52?
He ran Rotterdam in April (2:06), and then Healthy Kidney in New York last week and possibly other races in between as well. A lot of these road guys race a lot.
impressive week for Worku Beyi
28:41 for 6th at Healthy Kidney on May 16
29:35 for 4th at Cleveland Rite Aid on May 17
28:35 for 4th at MDS Nordion on May 23
He smashed the course record (Merga) and apparently was on pace for a WR until KM 8 but just couldn't hold on to that speed.
You gotta hand it to Merga though, he runs like an animal. Marathon or 10k. I expect he'll do great things...

Yea...just like the marathon took the speed out of Geb when he came back to the track after injury in the marathon and broke the world indoor 2mile record...while El G failed at it.
Since you're obviously in the mood for sarcasm - I guess Geb is representative of most elite athletes?
